Both clients and professional connections are seeking clarity on these changes. 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱: - Starting April 2027, most unused pensions will be included in estates for IHT purposes. - Previously, most pension funds were exempt from IHT, allowing us to advise clients to treat them as tax-efficient funds for their beneficiaries. - These changes will bring many more households into the IHT bracket. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗪𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀?  In short, it depends! Thankfully, there’s no immediate urgency as the changes take effect in 2027, and a consultation is currently underway. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀: There’s no “one size fits all” solution BUT Pensions are #regulated products, and providing #advice on them is a #regulated activity.
