“Tanja is dedicated and passionate and worked closely with us, as a supplier, to increase agency business booked through the GDS. Exploring all possibilities to create more awareness leading to a higher level of bookings and good revenue from the business sector. Always able to manage the increasing complex distribution systems to set up secure interfaces with channel managers & PMSs linked to booking platforms to include OTAs, the GDS and the booking engine. Making sure that that not only was the distribution set up correctly but the systems were utilised and “picture perfect” and all demand generation and marketing activities were utilised. A highly skilled person that would be an asset to any company looking to increase sales. ”

What do you do if your team is resistant to change in the workplace?
There is one thing it is very hard-if not impossible-to fake: your own engagement and belief in any system or a process you’re implementing, especially when it is major changes. As someone whose key strength is managing changes: be it conversions, or improvements, often requiring fundamental changes to bring long lasting results, I find that if you genuinely believe yourself in what you’re implementing, and are truly engaged, the vast majority of your team and people you’re leading at the time will follow. Being genuine and true to yourself and your own beliefs always wins both minds and hearts. Even those that might not agree with the new direction.

You’re a non-native speaker of the language. How can you learn new skills without feeling overwhelmed?
I’ve spent all od my adult life living and working outside Croatia, with Croatian, my native language, not spoken in any of those locations. First and foremost: make an effort! Get lessons, whatever you can afford, there’s nowadays so many free options. Read (well written materials, goes without saying). Listen. Interact. Keep learning. No excuse not to, aside being lazy. Keep improving. So long as you’re understood - and indeed some accents do require more work than others, so again, put in the work needed - don’t fret over an accent. I now sound rather American, due to the frequent interactions. And that’s fine, even if annoying/amusing to my lifelong British friends… they can still understand me just fine!! :)
