Globe Air is the first operator who allowed instant booking on any kind of marketplace and not only therefore is our preferred partner for this important milestone. Stay tuned for more #eVOOlution to come... A switch from a 2-step booking process into a 𝟏-𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 on VOO who is happy with their setup on VOO and the results of auto-calculated charter prices by VOO (based on their settings and parameters). #reVOOlution Just contact the VOO experts to switch a specific tail into “instant booking”. Soon you can do this yourself with the click of a button. And if you want to improve your setup with the help of the VOO experts, pls. also reach out to us: [email protected] were here to support you! The instant booking feature is a result of 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, (integration) and 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Every operator is able to do that themselves on VOO, even without a proper flight management system integrated into VOO. #gamechanger Some people doubt that slots, permits, crew etc. are not confirmed at the time of the booking and therefore “instant booking” isn´t possible with VOO (nor with any other system). You are right! This isn´t confirmed at the time of an “instant booking” nor is it when a brokers signs a charter contract with an operator. Our #isitrelevant post this week is focusing on codeshare. At the recent T2RL conference in London, many were questioning the relevance of code shares in modern times. I have to say, I agree! It’s frustrating for many travellers (to not even know which airline is actually operating the flight sometimes) and it seems silly. However, of course I can understand where it came from, and what a “stepping stone” of sorts it is for airlines to work on a longer term relationship. I get it. But do you really need it? In a poll I ran on the topic this week, 56% of travel sellers agree codeshares cause more problems than it solves. What are the alternatives? Well, airlines could just partner up virtually, very much like they do with virtual interline. You BA flight number is all you need, and yet AA and QR will recognize it. Why not? I saw some comment on the posts it allows for airlines to enter into markets where it might be otherwise difficult to do so, or there are other commercial reasons. But do they justify all the hassle (and costs) of setting up codeshare and more importantly, does the customer understand it? Is codeshare customer centric and relevant in 2024? I would say absolutely not! Do you think codeshare is relevant today?

What a crazy week! I showed 8 operators (23 aircraft) how Quorem improves booking stats for charter operators. 7 are now being configured to start a trial month during which time we will 💰 Rank their broker clients by enquiry volume, bookings, bookings with competitors and ratio of accept/decline. 💲 Create sorted and filtered dashboards of all their recent quotes that meet their unique definition of "good" relative to unsold availability and booked empty sectors / out of position aircraft. 🛫 Generate empty leg lists in a few clicks for emailing or posting. 🔔 Create alerts when something GREAT happens, i.e. when a new booking creates an empty leg that fits really well with a recently quoted flight. 📫 Analyse all their past quote requests to see who flew them. Floating fleet, RTB? Whatever your commercial strategy, Quorem users get more bookings, better route efficiency and stronger relationships with their brokers. Come and have a look and tell me how you would like Quorem to work for you. https://lnkd.in/erS2A3He

Plhak said he views this week at NBAA-BACE as a prime opportunity to connect with U.S. brokers and charter operators, who he feels are more open to trying new technology. (read the full article below) Almost no one in the sector denies that it takes far too long to book charter flights, with operators commonly complaining that their teams are drowning in quote requests from brokers and struggling to assess all the variables needed to generate accurate and profitable pricing. While several existing software providers and online marketplaces are already seeking to close this gap, Austria-based VOO is convinced that a lot more progress could be made and that a combination of cultural issues is blocking acceptance of breakthrough technology. According to Plhak, operators are wasting hours dealing with quote requests. At the same time, brokers often don’t have an efficient way to convey all aspects of their customers’ needs to potential service providers, which can result in glitches in how the service is provided and inaccurate pricing that either deters bookings or results in operators’ margins being excessively squeezed. VOO’s mission is to bridge the data gap between operators and brokers, securely exchanging information between flight operations systems and brokers' customer relationship management systems. “We’ve created a booking platform, but the bigger picture is that we have become a data distribution system,” Plhak said. Let’s met at NBAA-BACE today tomorrow or on Thursday and talk. Here’s my calendar link that allows you to book a meeting with me: https://lnkd.in/dQJhB7fs Read the full AIN article below!

Hello, I understand if correct, the relationship is (very) deep-rooted. So, to help you in the spirit of trustworthy journalism, though, I would add the bits missed in the article you write mainly about the positive points ahead. As I find this a “common theme” along with “all is well,” etc., it gets in the way of facts. Like Doug, you may have overlooked the rather stark update where the agency adjusted the recovery rating for bondholders to an emphatic 0%. To clarify, they stated, "We also affirmed our 'B-' issue rating and '6' recovery rating (0%-10%, rounded estimate: 0%) on Vista's senior unsecured notes." Also, what appears to be missed…is the finance interest costs doubling, the $67m outflow change to working capital and tighter supplier terms? So it’s here below “In addition, higher debt and interest rates led to adjusted interest paid (including refinancing costs) almost doubling to $324 million, and tighter supplier terms led to a working capital outflow of $67 million” Lastly, a link for your readers to know the truth and statement over and above the “all is well in the future” spin: https://lnkd.in/evQ6zFS7 I understand the difficulty in accurate reporting when relationships are deeply intertwined with some operators at a financial level (past and/or present). But I still think there is great merit in presenting all the facts along with the positive industry spin to maintain standards. This can help protect professionalism and impartiality, which is the first step towards being a trusted source of financial information within the sector. The difficulty is to separate the need to be positive from the stark truth. Still, if people continue to remain scared to speak the truth, then what future does the industry have of ever attracting investors for a sector-changing investment event or good players changing their companies through investment events? So much money has been wasted/lost, and our sector has wasted a vast sum of investors' money. By reporting how this has happened, we can introduce a change within the industry. The industry should be trusted with the truth, not a version written in such a positive way that it can easily distract them from the facts. I consider it an insult to the industry's intelligence, and someone has to state the numbers and the truth. John,

Some positive announcements in the Conservative Party manifesto today, in particular its support for the continued long-term growth of UK aviation, which can only be achieved via the sector’s successful delivery of net zero by 2050. It’s therefore welcome to see a commitment to UK SAF production via the SAF mandate and promised revenue certainty mechanism, together with renewed investment in zero emission technology and R&D. We also welcome the recognition of the importance of domestic connectivity, including via the recently reformed PSO regime and, on tax, the ruling out of any frequent flyer programme. #airlines #airports #aviation #travel #tourism #aerospace

𝐖𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 At the launch of #VOO in 2022 a VOO search result already showed the discounted price considering positioning flights and empty sectors within reach at the operators conditions. Since then brokers and operators kept asking us if we would mind developing an empty leg overview or why we don´t show empty legs only somewhere in VOO. I found this too simple or not smart enough, because I didn´t take into consideration that some brokers want to 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 (or with nice margins) to their clients or make them available on their websites, send out newsletters etc. It doesn´t really matter what the usecase is, on VOO you will either find 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 in a dedicated empty leg section or see 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬 based on empty leg calculations whenever you search for an A to B flight that has a useful empty leg provided by the operator available and within reach. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞´𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 out there: an empty leg will always be made available and be calculated at conditions that you setup. VOO will always calculate according the parameters you define. Navigating the complexities of #aircraft leasing transitions can be daunting. The critical phase of #open #item discussions at the end of a lease requires meticulous attention to detail to meet contractual obligations and minimize potential compensations. Managing these discussions becomes even more challenging when participants, such as lessors, airlines, and consultants, operate across different time zones and handle thousands of items. Traditional methods like spreadsheets often fall short due to compatibility issues and a lack of dynamic features needed to manage such intricate processes effectively. This is where #AeroOIL comes into play. Developed by #AeroConsultant, AeroOIL is designed to simplify these very challenges. It centralizes management to ensure all open items are thoroughly addressed before being closed. The system enhances security and accountability by allowing precise control over who can view or edit information. It also keeps all parties updated with real-time modifications and status alerts, facilitating quicker resolutions and enabling management to stay informed with snapshots of open items. AeroOIL isn’t just a tool—it's a transformational solution for the #aviation #industry, making leasing transitions smoother and more efficient. If you're looking to enhance your operational efficiency, I'd love to show you how AeroOIL can make a difference in your organization. Are you ready to take the next step towards streamlined aircraft transitions? #AeroConsultant #AircraftLeasing #aviationindustry #digital #transformation #AeroOIL AeroConsultant #aviation #ai #software #airline #airlines #lessor

TMC business owners have a LOT to consider when planning their future. The stakes are high, and it's not always clear which horse you should back. In a poll I ran last week, the results were pretty much even; I offered a choice of "Gaining control over NDC", "Team optimisation with AI" and "Change to service fee models" as key focus areas for the TMC of the future. They all got almost even votes, with the AI option pulling slightly ahead. Here's the thing; you don't have to choose between them. You can have all three. At Agentivity, we have teamed up with AirGateway to offer you complete control over NDC, down to ticket coupon tracking, all seamlessy mixed with your GDS data. ✅ We have also partnered with Lokulus, the world's leading AI workflow automation provider, and deeply integrated their AI tech with our data platform, resulting in: - A highly optimised team, with task to skill matching, truly enabled teamwork, faster customer turnarounds and visibility on work being done per client ✅ - An obvious way to move away from ticketing fees to transparent, true service fee models by being able to clearly demonstrate the work you perform per client. ✅ So you don't need to back only 1 of these; you can have all three in your race for the future of your TMC business. If you follow this link, you can book some time for a detailed demo: https://lnkd.in/g2zz7R9C #tmc #travelmanagement #ndc #ai #future

we are thrilled to be working with easyJet on this trial. The industry shouldn't wait for regulation to make us transition to SAf at scale. Voluntary demand from corporates is key for airlines to be able to reduce their scope 1 and corporates to reduce their scope 3 emissions (business travel or logistics)

Aerospace Technology Institute #ATIConference on Certification and Regulation Challenges Moderated by Dr. Guy Gratton, Associate Professor of Aviation and the Environment, Cranfield University. Panel Members: ✈️ Harry Armstrong, Head of Sustainability, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) ✈️ Michael Cervenka, Chief Technology Officer, Vertical Aerospace ✈️ Jenny Kavanagh, Chief Strategy Officer, Cranfield Aerospace Solutions In response to Mark Westwood’s question about how the UK can use its regulatory system to support innovators in bringing products to market, the panel provided valuable insights on the UK’s strengths and areas for growth. Michael emphasised that the CAA’s innovation team has been crucial in fostering a supportive and collaborative relationship with innovators. Initiatives like the sandboxes and the Hydrogen Challenge have positioned the UK as a leader in aviation regulation. Jenny highlighted the importance of extending these efforts beyond the innovation team—moving the regulatory progress “behind the curtain” into the Design and Certification (DNC) team, to create a more robust and integrated regulatory landscape. He also stressed the need for close collaboration with EASA, underscoring that while the UK CAA is doing impressive work, the ultimate goal should be harmonization of standards across regions. He noted that Vertical Aerospace has been working with both EASA and the CAA since 2019, and that effective collaboration between these regulatory bodies will be critical to avoid unnecessary duplication. EASA’s deep expertise should complement the CAA’s initiatives without slowing down the process by “marking every bit of CAA’s homework.” Harry acknowledged the challenge of rebuilding the CAA’s certification capabilities post-Brexit but noted the strides the innovation team has made, particularly in establishing meaningful working groups and partnerships with industry leaders. The CAA’s sandboxes and open communication channels have allowed them to engage with the wider ecosystem, including airports, MROs, and airlines, addressing not just certification but the broader operational and safety aspects of integrating new technologies like battery systems and hydrogen fuel cells into the aviation system. The panel agreed that the UK is in a prime position to lead globally in aviation innovation due to its proactive regulatory environment, but as Michael pointed out, political will and sustained resources will be necessary to continue this trajectory. The CAA’s role as a bridge between EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency and Federal Aviation Administration can ensure the global harmonisation of certification standards, which is essential for the industry’s progress. In conclusion, the UK’s regulatory system, especially through the CAA’s innovation team, provides a powerful tool for supporting UK innovators. #Innovation #Regulators #DestinationZero

IAG backs-off from Air Europa deal! Regulator approval was one of the main reasons behind IAG to walk away from acquiring Air Europa. How long time would an approval take and what kind of concessions had to be fulfilled by IAG? The end of the story is Air Europa will fly solo and IAG to pay €50m in break-off fee. But, IAG to remain with 20% ownership of Air Europa. Well, lets see if IAG radar has lock-on towards TAP Air Portugal instead? Or, if IAG looking for widebody aircrafts, there are currently options availible, that in my view not causing any regulatory issues/conserns. IAG has a strategy, capital and capability for M&A, lets see what the near future brings, as the final M&A flight in Europe has not taken-off!

EU Aviation Giants Slam Proposed Non-CO2 Emissions Exclusion as “Absurd” and Potentially Illegal In a strongly-worded joint letter, leading European low-cost airlines easyJet, Ryanair, and WizzAir have voiced opposition to the proposed exclusion of extra-European Economic Area (extra-EEA) routes from the European Union’s non-CO2 Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system. The airlines argue that such an exclusion would significantly undermine the scientific value of the MRV and potentially breach EU law. The MRV system is a critical tool designed by the European Union to gather data on the non-carbon dioxide (non-CO2) effects of aviation. These effects include contrails, nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulphur dioxide (SO2), water vapour, and other emissions like soot and aerosols. While the impact of CO2 emissions is well-documented, the non-CO2 effects are less understood but are believed to contribute significantly to global warming. The MRV aims to advance scientific knowledge in this area by collecting comprehensive data from the aviation sector. However, the proposed exclusion of extra-EEA routes has sparked controversy. The airlines argue that this would create a misleading impression that long-haul flights, which are suspected to generate the most significant non-CO2 effects, have no impact. This could misdirect future mitigation measures and damage the aviation sector’s reputation, which is already under scrutiny for its environmental impact. #airlines #co2 #emissions #eu #mrv Eóghain M.
