Despite all the progress, the socio-political polarization is dividing societies like never before. We are moving away from any semblance of ‘fraternity’. Why is this happening? Can we do anything to stop it? Many of us are grappling with these questions.

This book offers a bold and innovative approach through the concept of a ‘meta-Tradition’. It defines meta-Tradition as a pan-Indian network of patterns connecting the diverse, local, micro-traditions, to one another. It argues that the 'Indian tradition' is in fact this ‘meta-tradition’ and observes that neither the Left nor the Right has realized this. It says that this meta-Tradition was able to create a uniquely harmonious fabric of India, over millennia, by balancing the local diversity with the harmonizing connections to the pan-Indian core.

The book explores if the application of an European model based on ‘exclusivist’ identities, to India, has created a break from this meta-Tradition, endangering the equilibrium between harmony and diversity. It further suggests that the identity politics of today is systematically exploiting this situation. To build a fraternity, we must transcend both the Right and the Left, and establish a ‘Common Ground’. The book provides the initial articulation of this common ground, and that of the transcended ‘Right Liberal’ viewpoint. It implores the readers to re-discover the ‘meta-tradition’ and to reject ‘exclusivist’ tendencies, in order to end the polarization.

While emerging economies present business opportunities for global organizations, the differences and challenges in extending the existing business processes to the emerging economy environment has been discussed by many scholars. These differences come from new strategies of the firm, the host country environment and institutional factors. It is critical to examine the how business processes can be modelled to handle these requirements. For the same goal and core activities of a specific business process in an organization, the detailed business process for developed and emerging economies can turn out to be very different. These are even more pronounced for services industries. In this paper, we will discuss the several characteristics of emerging economies which can influence the process design, architecture and infrastructure. We use the example of a citizen service, passport issue process of India to illustrate the differences. This example helps highlight many aspects which may not be so apparent if an IT-enabled industry is chosen. Here the e-government services help identify the issues of modelling services process and the challenges of an emerging economy.

But it is also a fact that between 2009 and 2011, many companies have failed to meet their emerging market revenue targets. There are several - very good- reasons for this, such as low margin-high volume business model, resource constraints, shortage of skilled workforce, unpredictable policymaking and the existence of institutional voids. But every market participant encounters these obstacles. So what separates the winners?
Based on our research, we concluded that success is dependent on the extent to which players negate these challenges by transforming themselves into emerging-economy-centric organizations and embrace three key ideas, namely Growth Momentum, Smart Sourcing and Innovation Hubs.
