In Q2 of this year in the UK the average Perm Consultant made 4 placements and the average Temp Consultant made 6 placements. (UK) When we looked at the consultants at the Top 5 agencies on Recruiter Insider for Candidate Experience, we discovered that: 🚀 the average Perm Consultant there made 5 placements 🚀 the average Temp Consultant made 10 placements. In Q2 alone, the agencies with the highest candidate experience scores made 1 extra Perm placement per consultant and an 4 extra temp placements per consultant. Highlighting as always the impact candidate experience has on your placement numbers. The data doesn’t lie, an improved candidate experience means more placements. Here is a list of the key reasons I’ve heard from agencies over the last 8 years that I actually agree with as to why measuring the candidate experience isn’t a priority for them right now. There isnt one! Not a single one. Candidates deserve the best service you can give and if you aren’t measuring it you can’t improve it. No one is perfect but we can all improve.

PR Recruitment has been - and always will be - a constant challenge for agencies. Although this year is feeling slightly different. Agencies are trying to balance hiring needs with an inconsistent market and slow sign-offs on new business. Talent is harder to entice to new opportunities, with job security remaining front of mind. A lot of agencies are asking, for all of the redundancies that have been made, where is the talent? They are simply getting absorbed into what is still a candidate short market. There are more jobs than talent. As highlighted in the below PRWeek UK article, investing in your employer brand has become critical to attracting and retaining talent. General election. Seasonality. Tough market. The perfect storm? I wish this month's Firefish Software recruitment industry performance update were more positive, but it's been a challenging month across perm, temp and contract. TL;DR🚀: - The total volume of placements decreased by 8%. - Temporary & contract placements decreased by 6%. - Permanent placements decreased by 10%. Further insights📖: - Jobs created decreased by 8% in June however placements made were still 2% higher than June 2023. - Total applications decreased by 14% on the month. - Only the Finance & Accountancy sector delivered positive growth on May. Here’s what I found: 🔍 Poll Results vs. Actual Data: Poll Average: £40.2k Our CRM Data: £36k Pivotal Salary Guide: £40k While there is a notable difference between our CRM data and the poll results, it's promising to see that the public perception aligns closely with our salary guide. This indicates that despite some discrepancies, the industry is moving towards a more standardised pay range for Account Managers. 🎯 For Candidates: ☑ Know Your Worth: The poll and our salary guide suggest that £40k is a reasonable expectation for Account Manager roles. Be confident in negotiating salaries within this range,  but also ensure your expectations are realistic and aligned with industry standards. ☑ Consider Experience: Ensure that your experience level justifies your salary expectations.
