Weldment Some repeat work recently on the back of a previous project. This time 2 x large fabricated 4m x 3m Weldment Wall, mild steel frame & profile constructed, double plated both sides & weighing in at 1.5t each. They separate a heavy industry machining process line in a semi-clean environment. Both were fully shotblasted to SA2.5 all round, epoxy primer applied at 75um, followed by application of top coat at 60um in RAL7035. They were stood and allowed to fully cure prior to loading onto the transport to go back to site. ⌛ In case you missed it, we recently supplied an AVT (Advanced Valve Technologies) EZ Valve Live Insertion Valve, which was installed by R2M Site Services Ltd for Anglian Water Services in Spalding, Lincolnshire. During this project involving 3 leaking repair clamps, the current gate valve was found to be inoperable when looking to implement a diversion onto a nearby 16" main. On site delivering training to our client in the use of 3M Mobi-Lok vacuum anchors, these units create a certified anchorage point to surfaces where it may not ever be possible to attach a standard anchor. Mobi-Lok will attach to almost any type of sheet plate, including slightly angled surfaces so long as the structure can hold the required load. The system forms a vacuum under the rubber pads by simply pulling a lever down. The system then engages a warning noise until the gauge reaches the Green section, once this has happened and the needle remains in the Green it's ready to attach to. Mobi-Lok can be used with either small rechargeable compressed air cylinders or by plugging it into an on site airline. Once the system is set it can have mini SRL blocks, restraint lines or even HLL, Horizontal Life Lines attached to it, to create what ever your RAMS determined you needed for your safe working at height. Installed in seconds it makes a perfect solution for a number of industries where it simply isn't possible to attach an anchor point any other way. On this installment of #TrenchlessTuesdsy we are going to do an in depth review of our Retractable Roller Cone Cutting Heads 🚧✅ Traditional roller cone heads were great assets to bore contractors, but in the event you needed to assess downhole conditions, the heads were unable to retract and be pulled out of the casing. That problem is the catalyst to the evolution of Barbco’s BBC-55, Retractable Roller Cone Head. The keyword here is retractable; Meaning in the event where a contractor needs to assess downhole ground conditions, they can simply retract the cutting head, remove it, and proceed, like any traditional Barbco cutting head. This provides contractors with unmatched versatility downhole, which is one of the most important things in the trenchless field. Due to ever changing ground conditions, the RRC head could be advancing through solid or split face, hard rock ground conditions, and suddenly run into sticky clay which could render it inadequate. The design of the RRC head gives you the ability to retract the head, assess downhole conditions, and change to a different style cutting head, if necessary. It’s also important to note that the ability to retract this head makes it easier to assess its overall condition, and service it if necessary throughout the bore process. Not only does the retractable roller cone head offer extreme versatility, it also has ample cutting capability due to various roller-cone style options that are available. Barbco RRC heads can be tailored to match specific rock conditions on site, or general rock conditions, so that any bore contractor can decide for themselves when investing in extreme tooling! When utilizing a Barbco RCH head, it is paramount to keep the roller-cone’s cool. The RCH head can be easily used in conjunction with Barbco’s air-way auger through the Hard Rock Drilling System, or connected directly to a pilot string via Guided Boring. Though these two cooling methods are preferred, adding multiple 1/2” water lines to the front of the lead casing will additionally suffice. Keeping the cutters cool, will maximize the longevity and return on investment from the retractable roller cone head. #barbco #hdd #rock
