D365 F&O environments should ideally always be deployed using an unnamed account (e.g. [email protected]). This ensures that if users leave the business for any reason, there are no security implications, or worse still, the business is not stuck unable to maintain or update any environments. However, for various reasons, it may not be possible to get the environment administrator right in the first instance, and it needs to be changed later on. Microsoft have just announced that Microsoft Dynamics 365 commercial licensing will increase in price from 1st October 2024. Now that licensing is via the New Commerce Experience (NCE) it will be important for organisations to consider their renewal dates - as you may be able to lock in the pricing before the increase for one year.
