I am currently doing a large EWI job in Casterton ,the client is doing a proper job as i see it ,roof and verges being done and insulated,old windows out ,we are putting in new Energy efficient windows and doors,then the EWI is going on and the job looks good . However i was driving around another one of our projects today and witnessed what i could only describe as a half arsed waste of money and time on an EWI project being done . The old windows which i know to be 25-30 years old are staying in and the insulation is being applied around these, two fixings in the middle of each sheet .It looks shocking . How can they leave the windows in ?what fool of a project manager ,/specifier/landlord or whoever is paying for this to be done (its quite a lot of houses), would not spend £4k on getting the windows changed ?? They obviously wont be able to do their whole housing stock but surely those that you do, do properly?? Your wasting your money and the residents . IT Cleaning Ltd: Data Hall Cleaning. I have put this picture up again as I have just returned from a Data Hall Survey with a view to quoting for cleaning. As no electronic devices are allowed in the Data Hall I have put a representative picture up from a different customers site. Once again I found evidence of incorrect cleaning product used in the Data Hall. Cleaning solutions used within the data centre must not pose a threat to the hardware. Solutions that could potentially damage hardware include products that are: Ammoniated Chlorine-based Phosphate-based Bleach enriched Petro-chemical based Floor strippers and some floor re-conditioners. Data Centre professionals should always use a professional technical cleaning company. Even then always check what cleaning products they intend to use in the Data Hall. In this case a bleach based product. If its over sprayed here then it will have entered the airflow too and almost certainly ended up inside the servers etc.

Some very good points raised on a short clip on how the government are doing so well to deal with what’s going on in the uk today! Very quick to act on certain things and perhaps why they can’t ready as quick as they have done recently with other things that are going on. What are your thoughts?

#TDRC #update #Objective #NOT #Subjective Academy Trust Benefits from Huge Savings thanks to TDRC’s Independent Approach We are excited to share a recent success story where TDRC was able to deliver substantial savings for a leading academy trust in the south of England. Tasked with assessing the roofing needs of three of its schools, TDRC conducted comprehensive roof surveys covering a total of 58 roof areas. Our detailed surveys included core sampling, moisture probe analysis, infrared surveys, and moisture mapping.   Based on our findings, TDRC developed a performance waterproofing specification tailored for the client. This specification, backed by a 25-year insurance guarantee, included Brooft4 fire-rated waterproofing using both BUR felts and liquid systems. Additionally, we recommended upgrading the insulation with both tapered and flat options and installing 98 rooflights along with 1,250 meters of free-standing handrail.   The results of our survey revealed that:   11 roof areas required no work, as their existing waterproofing was less than five years old. 18 roof areas needed complete stripping back to the existing decks. 20 roof areas could be overlaid with new insulation (80mm, 100mm, 130mm, and tapered as specified). 9 roof areas, with significant plant equipment and rooflights, were specified for a liquid waterproofing system after insulation upgrades. The academy trust put TDRC’s specifications out to tender among their approved roofing contractors. During the evaluation, it was discovered that the previous tender by a waterproofing manufacturer had quoted £1.6 million for the three schools. By utilising TDRC’s independent roofing consultancy and performance specifications, the trust saved a remarkable £282,000.   These significant savings have allowed the trust to proceed with an urgent project that had been postponed due to a lack of available funds. Pay cheap pay twice 😄 🤣 When refurbing a property or doing any work for that matter, always get 3 quotes from 3 different builders and don't always go for the cheapest. Ask for recommendations from people you trust when looking for a builder. Ask to see some of their previous work. I have been through a lot of different trades to get the team I've got now. It's been a painful process 😄 What are your top tips when looking for a builder?

Top Tip. This is something I have only started doing, and it has helped me massively. At the end of every refurbishment I do, I will spend around 15 minutes just writing down everything that happened during the project It's great to reflect on previous projects, especially when they are still fresh in your mind. Especially on the things that went wrong so you can do it differently or improve it next time Doing this has helped me save time and money on projects. Give it a go, and let me know how you get on
