l led the research programme at Transparency International UK from July 2013 to April 2015. In April 2015, I was promoted to Head of Advocacy and Research at Transparency International UK where I had the privilege of leading a 7 person combined research, advocacy and communications department.

During that period, I streamlined the focus of the research team on 'corrupt capital' and open governance themes. My focus as head of the department was to direct the TI-UK research effort towards advocacy and media impact, rather than simple publication. I managed the following projects to completion, on budget and on time, all of which had significant media and policy impact:

      - Closing Down The Safe Havens: Ending impunity for corrupt individuals by seizing and recovering their assets in the UK
      - Corruption in UK Local Government
      - UK Open Governance Scorecard
      - Lifting the Lid on Lobbying report
      - Tackling Corruption through Open Data (TACOD)
      - Corruption on Your Doorstep - Money Laundering Risks in Property
      - Exporting Corruption Report (2014 and 2015)
      - Countering Small Bribes (guidance paper)
      - Empowering the UK to recover corrupt assets – Discussion Paper
      - Submission to No.10 Downing Street on Anti-Corruption Priorities – Policy submission
      - UK contribution to EU-wide Lifting the Lid on Lobbying paper

Typically, I would speak at approximately 4 events a month to represent TI-UK and TI research, whether it be at the National Crime Agency or Oxford University.

One of the biggest single moments for recognition of the TI-UK research function was, in 2014, when the UK Government’s Anti Corruption National Action Plan was published. 27, out of the 66 actions that the UK government committed to, directly related to our work. Later on even more recommendations were adopted.
