AI isn't good for everything. Case in point incoming... I've avoided Suno so far, but fell down a rabbit hole last night messing about asking it to write songs about PPC, SEO and digital marketing (for jokes, obvs) At one point I got it into my head that it could have a go at doing a version of Robert Wyatt's classic 'Shipbuilding' but an SEO-influenced version called 'Link Building' (I know, and I am sorry, but it's done now) This was the result - it was nowhere near what I wanted (or expected) but it was charming and funny enough to share the result here. Let's see if you end up humming it all weekend. WordPress 6.6 may affect other add-ons/page-builders so ensure that your site does not auto-update to WP 6.6. Test on a Staging site - and have an Exported back-up - before updating. Don't rush to update and then throw your Cornetto upwards. #WordPress

This podcast explains what I have been saying about Google PPC for 2 years now by John Moran - John Moran https://lnkd.in/e2FWdBij. It is technical but worth a listen for everyone. Uh - actually the reverse is tru because automated bidding is an ROI killer... I get to say I told you so... (PS - It is why TopicIntelligence.ai is so critical because it identifies topics that are "under the radar" for Google but it performs crazy good for acquisition. I like to say to succeed in Google PPC you have to game Google at thier own game.) This approach beats CPC inflation at its core. The net, net is that Google PPC is built to monetize for Google first and maybe advertisers a distant third... "Buyer beware..."

These reviews focus on the good or bad of websites that I give 59 seconds of my time to. In this case, multi-lingual translation of website pages is a major plus (that so many fail to do). It's just a shame that there's little depth to the product ranges available. How many case studies do you need on your website? 99% of the websites I look at get this wrong They have product or service pages on their websites. They may include a few case study excerpts on those pages – usually far too low down the page, and usually not directly related to the specific service/product being offered. Think like your potential customer who is looking at your product or service page. They’re thinking: How GOOD are you at this? They’re looking for a bare minimum 6-9 case study excerpts that: 1.  Are very prominent, high up the service or product page. 2.  Briefly introduce case studies specifically related to the service or product on offer. 3.  Have an additional ‘See More Case Studies’ type button that they can click and it opens up even more case study excerpts. They’ll see all that evidence of service/product-related work done for clients, and they’ll stay engaged with your website. Last week at Substrakt we launched our first Cultural Website Performance Benchmark Report (which you can download via the link in the comments). We looked at the 2023 website traffic data for 76 cultural websites (encompassing over 110 million user sessions). I am doing a couple of webinars over the next two Wednesdays (tomorrow - Weds 8th May at 2pm BST, and next week - Weds 15th May at 11.30am ET / 8.30am PT) to walk through the background to the report, and some of our main findings. However mobile conversion rates are on average 68% lower than desktop traffic. - Cultural homepages are the entry point for just 16% of traffic to cultural websites. - Traffic from email converts at a higher rate than any other source. - Basket abandonment rates on cultural websites are 52% better than other ecommerce sites. - The average value of mobile donations increased by over 70% in 2023. - 'Engagement rates' for cultural websites are 40% lower than other sectors.

🔴 BIG, BIG NEWS 🔴 The ICO have updated their website today and confirmed that loyalty/cashback customers are EXEMPT from having to provide consent for the sales to track, as long as the cookie is not being used for other purposes. This means that they can fit on advertiser sites under the strictly necessary category.
