Following the success of my BA, I decided to continue with my love/fascination for human resource management because I find the employer-employee relationship dynamic fascinating.

It was a different university with very different teaching styles and standards (harder!) as well as being a competitive (minimum 2;1) masters course. I've also acquired my CIPD here at Kings College.

My thesis was themed on the international graduate market - basically people like me! When you traverse international borders, you often hit language barriers, cultural barriers and even just general work style differences. As someone who had to personally overcome these hurdles, I felt I was well positioned not only to study the topic but to promote it in my work life, too.

Small wonder I now work in international recruitment, helping people overcome these barriers every day!

At the university of Westminster, I developed an even greater passion and commitment for HR through modules such as 'Making Management Decisions', 'Financial and Human Resource Management in Organisations' as well as 'Organisational Analysis and Behaviours' - all modules that I exceeded in.

In addition to this success, Managing the Employee Relationship was the main module I thoroughly enjoyed, mostly because of it's real world application and relevance to future prospects.

In addition to this success, Managing the Employee Relationship was the main module I thoroughly enjoyed, mostly because of it's real world application and relevance to future prospects.

This course taught me fundamental life lessons through theories and concepts. For example, the 'pay work bargain system', which states that any employee relationship will have hidden layers; such as the power of the employee (relative to the manager) will always be contested to maintain equilibrium, as well as bringing with it a degree of complexity as is found in any psychological contract.

Activities and Societies: Rugby Team | Badminton Team | Student Council

This was my first experience of leadership, both representing my year group and being a leader in my rugby team.

It's hard for a student body to agree on much and a strong back line also needs to work in uniform to be effective: clear direction and strong relationships are key to both.

I loved this school: there were 200 people in the entire school (middle to A level), so it was an incredibly tight knit community; it was an experience in itself if only for the strong connections and lifelong relationships that were made.

I was top of PE, always enjoying the physical aspects of school life, but had strong aptitude in IT and mathematics (both logic based academic subjects); I didn't know it at the time, but this was to pave a foundation for a skill in understanding…

SCG is a billion dollar multinational construction supply company; for this CSR event, I put my hand up to volunteer with the noble cause - providing less fortunate children with education opportunities.

    - Helped distribute gifts to children in small villages along the beautiful mountainous region.
    - Assisted in setting up the theatre for the final award ceremony, which was broadcasted on television across the country.

    - Helped distribute gifts to children in small villages along the beautiful mountainous region.
    - Assisted in setting up the theatre for the final award ceremony, which was broadcasted on television across the country.

I enjoyed the experience because I got to connect with other people and got to help people with genuine need - it was eye opening to see a layer of often hidden society that had so much less than I did.

It required working cohesively as a team to ensure all the children were presented with gifts, without inventory going missing (etc.) and guaranteeing the general smooth running of the event.
