NVIDIA's generative #AI creates #3D #layouts? 🖥️🚀 Manual 3D planning and creation of 3D marketing content is so 2020... ⏳🏭 ✨ As presented yesterday at SIGGRAPH 2024 by NVIDIA and WPP, generative AI was used to create advertising materials for The Coca-Cola Company Cola. 🤖 Using 3D technologies as well as AI, they were able to quickly design and optimize ads that look fantastic and fit perfectly with local cultures 🌍. Move over #GPTs... its time for #LFMs to make the next big wave in #GenAI For the uninitiated - most of the current GenAI platforms and tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc) are based on an architecture that's transformer based and comes huge memory usage and GPU requirements. The LFM approach is a new architecture which (to put it simply) significantly reduces the memory requirements and performs as good as the current models (if not better). To put this in perspective - Liquid’s(the company pioneering LFMs) LFM-3B requires only 16 GB of memory compared to the more than 48 GB required by Meta’s #Llama-3.2-3B model. This is one step closer to making LLMs more accessible, lighter and easy on the pocket, hence increasing adoption. Check out this article ... makes for a good weekend read !

The NY Times had 273GB of data and source code stolen and posted on 4Chan (including Wordle!) because of an exposed GitHub token. Now there's many of ways for this to happen but likely the token was pushed to a public repo accidentally. And there are bots that scrape these repos looking for API keys, secrets and tokens. Security isn't just the responsibility of the Tech team so ask questions like: Are they running internal scanning tools against the repos to make sure that any secrets aren't accidentally committed. Or, are they frequently rotating tokens and keys to limit the impact if they are leaked? Tackle the monkey first! Alphabet's Moonshot Factory, X, is the stuff of legends. They think in terms of 10x (sometimes I think it's 1000x). They like to tackle the biggest and hardest problems in the world. Most of the time, with some sort of sci-fi sounding solution. They succeed but they also fail. It's a story I've heard a few times and even shared with my colleagues. I think it's a great way to illustrate how important planning and prioritisation is. X on Tackling the monkey first: If you were asked to train a monkey to stand on a pedestal and recite Shakespeare, where would you start? Most people would start by building the pedestal, because it’s easier, even though training the monkey is the vital task. When taking moonshots, it’s almost always best to take on the hardest, most important part of the problem first, rather than waste time on relatively simple tasks you know you can do later. This will help you learn as quickly as possible whether you should keep going or move on to more promising ideas.
