The acquisition of Graphcore by SoftBank is likely to provide the AI chipmaker with significant resources and opportunities for expansion. It also reflects the increasing competition in the AI chip market, where companies like NVIDIA, Intel Corporation, and AMD have been vying for dominance. What do you think of this? "The latest government data (published June 2024) reveals that the mean average UK weekly wage (including bonuses) across all industry sectors (in England and Wales) is £687 gross (that’s the equivalent to an annual pre-tax salary of £35,724." Interestingly, younger earners under 30 are earning around 25% less than their counterparts aged over 40. This wage disparity raises important questions about career progression, opportunities for younger professionals, and the evolving job market. ⛔ The recruitment system is broken. ⛔ Just had a look at the number of applicants we have received over the last 5 days at Cognify Search... 962!! This week we have submitted over 30 data candidates to our clients. Only one of these candidates have come from our adverts (admittedly we sill have around 1/3 to review).. ⛔ Easy apply is creating too much noise! ⛔ Much of the noise comes from candidates who have very few of the skills required ⛔ Most are not based in the UK ⛔ Many companies only accept candidates who are British Citizen, have ILR or Settled status. ⛔ There is a disconnect between candidates and hiring companies in terms of remote and hybrid working. ⛔ Data is becoming more silo'd, companies are looking for a specialist within a specialist.
