SEO Time for money. Let's use a reduction analogy. We invoice the client £3600. We remove £600 vat. We pay £1000 for labour link earning. We pay £1000 for SEO expertise. We pay £500 for content. Tool costs (part division) £50. Total cost: £2550. Corp tax 25% on £450 - £112.50 Profit £337.50. This is just an analogy. The client isn't £3600 out of pocket. VAT they reclaim. Content they keep. Links they own. But that doesn't matter. It's the perception of investment vs return. The client sees they paid YOU £3600 and therefore in most cases that's the figure they multiply when they want to look at investment vs return. This is why SEO is a challenging industry and why low budgets do not work (unless you don't give a f#ck and farm everything out for max margins). SEO is easy? No it's not, especially when you actually care about your clients. If that wasn't difficult enough, agency owners have to contend with: Resourcing and resource costs, good people aren't cheap Resource capability (SEO skills, behaviour, internal management capabilities, communications) Client satisfaction Google not playing by its own rule book (fuck you HCU) and so much more. SEO is an amazing industry, fun, exciting and plentiful - but equally it's a tough industry driven by churn, bullshit and max margins. #seo

I love this trick of the maths!! You can get exponential returns by making incremental gains in your metrics. Pure synergy, where the impact is greater than the sum of the individual parts.
