Volunteer Experience

    Ambassador

    Holocaust Educational Trust

    - 2 months

I visited Auschwitz and learned about the awful conditions faced by prisoners; but also heard amazing stories about the triumph of the human spirit in the face of the worst possible atrocities. Part of my role as an Ambassador is to raise awareness of what happened and why, to try and prevent similar tragic future events. This included sharing my reflections in a presentation in front of my entire school.

  • Social Secretary

    Exeter University Lacrosse Club

    - 1 year 1 month

As Social Secretary of the Exeter Lacrosse Club Committee, my responsibilities included deciding and communicating the theme for weekly social events; effectively communicating this to all members of the society; ensuring it was well organised on the night and that everyone had a good experience. I was also responsible for organising the Christmas Dinner and End of Season Dinner, the two most important social events in the Lacrosse Club calendar.

  • Extended Project Qualification - 'Is the NHS still fit for purpose?'

    -

I examined whether the original objectives of the NHS were still being met. Despite the changes in the scale and scope of operations since its inception in 1948, I concluded that the NHS is still fit for purpose. However, tough choices lie ahead to balance operational costs with the ever-increasing demands of an ageing population and higher expectations from patients.
