This means using dark colours on a pale background, rather than pale colours on a pale background. Use a single colour background rather than a multi-coloured or patterned background. You can use a free online colour contrast checker to make sure there’s enough contrast between colours. Adobe software has in-built features to simulate colour blindness. You can use this to check the accessibility of colour palettes. Slide 4, text reads: Paper Types: Use matte paper as gloss finish can be too reflective. Use heavier paper weights of 200gsm plus. Low paper weights show text from the reverse and can be too flimsy to hold. Avoid complex folds in leaflets as they can obscure text and images. They also make it hard to unfold. Keep things simple. Size matters – if the paper is too big then it’s hard to unravel and hold; too small and you won’t be able to fit a large enough font size.
