Good news for customers running their SAP workloads on RHEL - RHEL 9.4 has been validated for SAP HANA! 🎉 15 Years of SAP Adventures 🎉 Started my journey on 1st Dec 2009, and today - fifteen years… wow! That’s a lot of SAP, a ton of chai/coffee, countless late-night debugging sessions, and more “Can you fix this ASAP?” or "quick call" requests than I can count. 😄 It’s been an incredible ride filled with big wins, tricky challenges, and moments that made me question my life choices (looking at you, system downtimes 😅). But through it all, the people I’ve worked with made every bit of it worth it. To the mentors who shared their wisdom, the colleagues who had my back, the clients who kept me on my toes, and the friends who turned long days into unforgettable memories—THANK YOU! You’ve all been the real MVPs of this journey. 🙌 And thank you to the organizations that allowed me to work and grow - HCLTech, LTI - Larsen & Toubro Infotech, AgilityWorks Limited and Bluestonex. From crazy deadlines to project celebrations, and yes, even the “death by PowerPoint” meetings, these 15 years have been a mix of hard work, growth, and a lot of laughs along the way. One of the key motivations for this transition is the opportunity to continuously benefit from advancements and enhancements within the system.

SAP has released a very useful learning journey on SAP BTP: https://lnkd.in/eXTyv-7t While checking the Application development frameworks section one could ponder on the thought-Where is the ABAP I know hidden in RAP? Where could SAP Business AI make a difference? I had once overheard a morning walk conversation between two adults on having seen a perfectly clean house. “Where are all the stuff hidden”? 😊 Having implemented few RAP applications myself (non-productive use cases included), I had a similar view on where the intensive ABAP code gets boxed. The whole concept of RAP gets very precisely understood with this diagram from SAP (below). The CDS behaviour definition and implementation has it all. I remember, the framework has a structure to define what code gets where and that’s useful. It is important to note that business roles come into picture while hosting the app in Launchpad etc. However, CDS based data model also include authority checks. These would govern what authorisations the user has once having access to the app. SAP has published example of requirements to code, specific commands to code in learning journeys of SAP Business AI. I’ve so far seen only CAP programming models and associated UI with Joule in SAP Build Code. If RAP programming gets generated by Joule, what would you want to see? Here are my Wishlist – a)     Generate the CDS based data model with specific inputs and database artifacts that could be using on-prem systems. (Currently it seems possible in CAP with Joule) b)    Generate the behaviours definition and implementation along with AUNIT test cases taking care of code integrity, security, draft behaviours. The functional logic could be left for developers to own but the rest of the framework behaviours should be robustly done without hallucinations and multiple prompts. c)     Add a confidence score on how sure Joule is with the generated code and where it needs developers to focus on. Some days ago our friend Michal Krawczyk 🚀 posted about our Code10 CI Accelerator as a way to bring to SAP Integration Suite a robust pipeline. It can be applied in SAP PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite Migrations and also in Greenfield Implementations.
