📌 How it started v How it's going A few years ago I asked myself "Who am I to create an online course and offer talks about menopause for the workplace?" I've lost count of the times I considered leaving menopause to the professionals like TV celebrities and MP’s. And I have wondered do we need another voice adding to the chat? Little old me...? And to be honest, at times the chat has felt like a lot of noise, rather than grown-up chat about what can be plain-sailing time for many can be debilitating for others. I used to work in offices with the ‘Who’s turn is it to make the tea, buy the milk and who left the sink in that mess?’ conversations. And many other office type of conversations besides. I left it behind to start my own business and teach marketing to businesses. 🤔 Talk about timing. I was 43, and just as my marketing business was taking off, my hormones had a plan I knew nothing about and threw me into what was to be the most challenging time of my life. Menopause hit me like a truck and stayed for nearly 10 years. - I didn’t have a clue what was happening to me. - I was scared, lonely and was losing who I was. - I was this close to losing my business I’d started too. And it crossed my mind I’d have to get a job. But who’d employ me? This wreck. A mess of a woman who couldn’t remember the day of the week let alone knew what to do with her keyboard, when she sat down to reply to emails. 💡 If I didn’t have a clue what was going on, how can we expect the workplace to know and step-up, help and provide support?
