🌿 Effective collaboration is key to real climate action. That’s why Clear Channel UK have been working with local authorities for decades, supporting innovative initiatives like Aberdeen Meadows-in-a-Box and Bristol City Leap. By demanding transparency and setting higher benchmarks, we can help ensure commitments go beyond lip service. But what else can be done? Partnerships and Creative Director, Louise Stubbings (she / her), answers the question in the latest Local Government Chronicle. Read it here: https://okt.to/EqB4e2 #PlatformForGood #Sustainability

🌍 The Role of Service Emissions in Climate Action 🌿 A thought provoking way to kickstart the day at Purpose Disruptors brilliant Services Emissions UK Report Launch: Aligning Professional Services with Net-Zero at The Conduit Key Takeaways: 1️⃣ Service Providers Are Central: Service firms are integral to global chains, amplifying the environmental impact of their clients. As Laura Clarke OBE noted, “If you’re supporting those destroying our planet, you’re complicit.” Legal and reputational risks are escalating; recent litigation shows that companies can be held liable for their clients’ emissions. 2️⃣ Unmeasured Impact, Unmanaged Risk: Advertising emissions can be 44x higher than operational emissions. Knowing our footprint is step one; managing it is non-negotiable. It’s clear: “You can’t manage what you don’t measure.” 3️⃣ From Greenwashing to Real Action: Moving beyond “offsetting” to tangible shifts requires action at scale collectively. Tessa F. emphasised that we’re in an era of execution. The gap between commitment and genuine impact must close. We’re all in in the climate business, whether we like it or not. As Jonathan Wise powerfully put it “Advertisers are the architects of desire.” Our choices shape markets and mindsets. If we get our own houses in order, we can catalyse real, lasting change. 🔗 Now is the time to act: https://lnkd.in/eWi9Ncbk

Wow! At a time when the energy, utilities and infrastructure sector needs to attract all of the talent it can to bring in vital new skills, fill the growing labour gaps and harness diversity to fuel innovation and solve intractable problems, the opposite is happening when it comes to the women already in the sector. This is a hard-hitting piece of research with some stark conclusions. The good thing is that it also points to some simple and actionable things that can be done in your organisations to mitigate these risks and reverse the trend for women to exit the sector. Thanks Sarah McMath for reposting and to the #WUN for conducting the research. #DEI #diversity #womeninutilities #unconsciousbias #energy #water #gas #utilities #infrastructure #engineering #construction Isabella Bentley

‘You can’t really measure the impact of PR’. I hear that said so often that sometimes even those of us working in the sector can be at risk of internalising that belief. Which is why it’s so uplifting when a client takes the time to write in on a Friday afternoon to say ‘the result of the press coverage [that Rostrum generated] is a 25% increase in website traffic and a 50% increase in form completions’. That’s a measurable return on investment from your PR programme.

Well-considered public relations builds mutual understanding when it is planned and sustained. That was the core of my message to SMEs yesterday. Don't be a flash in the pan. And don't just do something because all your competitors are at it. * Listen to those who matter most to your business and treat them with respect * Be creative, human and use the most relevant channels to reach the people who are crucial to your success * Decide what works for you and stick to it #PRforSMEs #publicrelationsstrategy #Hampshirebusiness

There are clear opportunities for technology to help transform the built environment. BSI explored actions and attitudes around AI with sector business leaders and found that whilst organizations are involving employees in trialling new AI tools, the actions to help roll it out across the business are not progressing at the same pace. For example, just two fifths in the sector (41%) say they have an L&D programme to ensure successful delivery of AI training. The introduction of guardrails, such as ISO 42001, have the potential to support the sector to move from strong engagement with internal trials to scaling adoption of AI tools, aligned with business objectives. The environmental impact of digital marketing is an issue that deserves much more attention and thoughtful discussion across our industry. Absolutely delighted to be asked once again to contribute to a Marketing Week article. Massive thanks to Matthew Valentine for including me. I explore how personalisation and segmentation can help reduce wasted efforts and emissions. But this is just the beginning – there’s a deeper conversation to be had about how we, as marketers, can leverage data and creativity to make more sustainable choices. This is an emotive and important topic that warrants a broader dialogue. Read the full article here 👇 #SustainableMarketing #DigitalResponsibility #MarketingForGood

In 2024 the UK still does not have a well defined Industrial Strategy in place! But a new report from PwC UK - which surveyed 1,200 of the UK's senior business decision-makers and interviewed 60 business leaders - is set to address that 🚀 Check out our 'Framework for Growth' and discover how the UK can establish a new model of inclusive growth 📈 #IndustrialStrategy #Transformation #Growth #Economy

The recent news around Havas and their B-Corp status started me thinking; currently there is a 3 year review and this is no different to many accreditation/ qualifications. For example gas engineers must be re-assessed every 5 years and the veterinary profession are using CPD in a similar way to the medical profession. Doctors must re-validate with the GMC on an ongoing basis. People and businesses need to maintain skills and up skill as their sector evolves. What was seen as acceptable in the past and demonstrating commitment to sustainability goals is not even table stakes today! I welcome seeing more of this to reinforce the value of our industry certifications https://lnkd.in/exNrxWYa
