Secrets (ish) of a VA 🤫 ⭐️ We sometimes send invoices then pin the email and label it in the client’s inbox as ‘to pay’. ⭐️ We act all surprised when a client tells us all excitedly about a holiday they booked or a lead they got - we already knew. 🌟 We sometimes write comments on a friend’s LinkedIn post as the client and the friend doesn’t know it’s you (because the friend is on their ‘people to engage with’ list!). ⭐️ We ask clients if they’re free for a social and we could actually just check their calendar and tell them when they’re free. ⭐️ We’ve written funny comments/posts as a client and smiled when they got traction. ⭐️ We have access to courses worth thousands of £ and are told we can look at them for free. ⭐️ We’ve sent flowers to spouses and let clients take the credit for being an amazing husband/wife. ⭐️ We carry out some very random requests. Yes, I have coached someone on a date via What’s App before 🤣🤣 Disclaimer: Not all clients have their emails managed or LinkedIn accounts logged into. We sometimes have eyes on everything and are definitely in a position of trust no matter what we do. Don’t go cheap. Go with reputation. Go with relationships. Go with proven results. There are clients we end up parting ways with (for a number of different reasons) and the ‘inside knowledge’ stays inside and will always stay inside. 🎓 Why is Teacher Recruitment so hard right now? 🎓 Navigating the complexties of applying for a teaching post can be a daunting task, from application form after application form, to tedious interviews and observations. The demand for qualified and engaging teachers is still very high, yet schools seem to be having a poorer reception than ever for their job adverts. 10 Reasons why I hope you're NOT an Outstanding Teacher! 👀 🤔 The word outstanding has always been banded about in teaching an often used as a badge of honour by teachers to try and show how great a teacher they are. 👺 Well I have to say it's absolute rubbish, there is no such thing as an outstanding teacher, it's impossible. It is an unattainable and unrealistic term and I genuinely hope you dont strive to become one. Here's why. If you are an outstanding teacher you are probably : 😡 Working 15 hour days 😡 Arriving at work at 6.30am and leaving at 6.30pm 😡 Working till 1pam 😡 Sleep walking your way to burnout 😡 Off with work related stress 😡 Never see your own kids or family 😡 Spend all weekend catching up on the marking and reports 😡 Not eating a healthy diet 😡 Not getting enough exercise 😡 Not getting enough sleep If you want to enjoy your job and have a good work-life balance including good mental health you need to STOP striving for this unrealistic and toxic label. What's the best way to lead with behaviour in your school? * Many staff don't feel confident to deal with behaviour situations,  pupil absence is high,  as well as budget cuts and staff shortages. How do you lead with behaviour and learning in this environment? There's divisions in staff over behaviour approaches, resulting in no consistency... often, little useful learning is going on... How do you deal with stress as a business owner, SME or professional person? Stress can be triggered by small or big things but our coping strategies are so important. I hit burnout in 2022 from working 7 days a week for years. I wasn't managing my time correctly, I wasn't prioritising me and I definitely was talking to anyone about feeling overwhelmed. In a world where everything Is so fast paced it sometimes feels like we need to keep up or be 1 step ahead which will lead to becoming stressed or overwhelmed. in the video demonstration we shared with 200+ people about the things that can cause stress, what happens if we don't deal with things going on in our life and how we can deal with overwhelming/stressful situations.

Today, Kier Starmer entered Number 10 with a message of hope. Bridget Phillipson discussed on Radio 4 her plan to hire 7,000 new teachers and address teacher retention. Positive comments were made about stemming the flow of teachers leaving the profession. More needs to be done to fix the leaky bucket. Don't just waste money pouring more in at the top. At Bedrock, we speak with 39,000 classroom teachers each year, hearing daily how budget pressures hinder MAT and school leaders from making sound pedagogical decisions to improve children's mastery of literacy. Children need access to technology to harness the power of 10 years of EdTech innovation. Yet, over 80% of children in the state system do not have daily access to a computer. We encourage the new The Labour Party to invest boldly in an education system under serious strain, thinking very carefully about the role of technology in the classroom of the future. The profession must be treated with the respect it deserves and it must be modernised. 90% of teachers feel constrained by chronic underfunding and we know that access to tech is huge challenge. We strongly urge consideration of the future classroom and how technology can help practitioners elevate their impact and make the profession a truly expert vocation. Additionally, policy should focus on rebuilding the damaged relationship between parents and schools since the pandemic and giving children and their families hope that hard work will pay dividends for their futures. Families do not always believe this anymore. Many children aren't buying it. They are disillusioned. Respect the hard work put into building a knowledge-centred curriculum. Please avoid charging in and tearing everything up. Listen to teachers, parents, and children. Consider their needs to flourish in the AI age and create policies fit for tomorrow's world. Be bold. Put education on the stage.

Is it OK to change schools at Christmas? You may not agree, but I think the answer is yes! I talk to teachers every day who worry that it might 'look bad' to change schools mid-year or might be worried about leaving their students. In my own teaching career, I have experienced all of these thoughts firsthand, along with the associated 'teacher guilt' with walking away from classes I've built relationships with. Although it was hard, I still changed schools at Christmas or Easter as well as in September. It was my husband who gave me the best piece of wisdom for dealing with the teacher guilt: "The children at the new school, need you just as much as the children at your old school." My advice to manage the transition is simple: ⭐ Know and understand your reasons for moving on, and hold onto these when the guilt creeps in ⭐ Be open with your current school and give them as much notice as you can so they can recruit ⭐ The extra notice gives you time to prepare your students with revision strategies and skills, so they are equipped to carry on without you ⭐ Let yourself get excited about your new role! A new year start can be really positive as it allows you to understand the school, and be well and truly part of the furniture before September comes again!
