Young Enterprise Scotland set high standards whilst being creative in approach. MCR Pathways is a Scottish charity with a powerful vision: that every care-experienced and disadvantaged young person in Scotland gets the same education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances as every other young person.
In their most recent Impact Report, MCR highlighted that 86% of mentored leavers progressed to positive destinations (full-time employment, further education, or higher education) vs 51% of care-experienced non-mentored leavers.
By spending just one hour…MCR Pathways is a Scottish charity with a powerful vision: that every care-experienced and disadvantaged young person in Scotland gets the same education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances as every other young person.

The Power Within supports both as a Children's Hearing Panel Member and an L&D Coordinator. Though cases are complex and emotionally challenging, and the time commitment is considerable, this work is hugely rewarding.

The four styles: 1. Secure - healthy 2. Anxious - unhealthy 3. Avoidant - unhealthy 4. Disorganised - unhealthy Kids with the unhealthy attachment tend to grow up with self doubts, harsh inner critics, have anxieties, don’t trust others, are loners, fearful of the world, of animals, of people, of relationships… Until we release ourselves from the familiar of the “unhealthy” known, of what our formation of the world is, we will never truly feel like we are living our life’s purpose and might feel disconnected from our authentic self. Are you always attracting the same people in your life that you know are not good for you? Do you feel unfulfilled and don’t know what your passion is? Do you feel you are drifting through life and although wanting to change are unaware of how to? One main reason why you think this way can be narrowed down to a belief system you formed at an early age. Ok but why do you want to do that? As I’ve said before, meeting with the Judges in the build up to the CIPD Middle East Gala Dinner Awards has a lot to do with giving the audience visibility into the process but also, I get to meet and speak with people who I can learn from that will help me in my journey to bringing value to my clients . I’m happy to say, that happened yesterday when I met with Nicholas W. who will be one of the judges for the awards. I can see the passion Nicholas has when it comes to making the workplace about people. He works with companies in regards to their strategies for transactions, M&A, helping companies to structure their ideas so they can delivered. His about section on his profile explains this perfectly. A lot of the time a business just looks at the 1s and Os but you have to take into account how that can affect the people in the business. Transactions are happening frequently in the Middle East, companies merging, being acquired. How often does it happen that the founder steps away and the company is never seen again? Look what happened with the entertainer, Donna has come back to save the company. Nicholas believes the best way to help through this transaction with transformation is transparency. To show the people and keep them updated without going against NDAs will lower the risk of toxic environment and water cooler chat. My title to this post was, ok but why do you want to do that? This is a question we all should be asking when it comes to ideas and plans we have. It comes back to working out what your operating model is, your values and strategy. If your new idea is not aligned with your original strategy, you best have a great response to the question. Why is this important? It helps you focus again on what you’re meant to be doing. Nicholas will be a judge for the category of DEI, a very important topic, he needs to see that this isn’t just a quota filler or tick box exercise, You might be making efforts to diversify but is there inclusion? Really focus on the impact, the challenges you have faced, it won’t be perfect, share what has happened.
