✅ How to easily visualise the 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 of any given site 👉 This works extremely well with pitches, or when speaking with non-technical people. The process below 👇 ✔️ Crawl the site with #screamingfrog (in the example I used 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗨𝗞, as they are a well know coffee brand in GB with a small site). ScreamingFrog is free to use for up to 400 URLs. ✔️ Once the crawl is finished, click on the top menu "Visualisations" and then on the drop-down menu select > "Force-Directed Crawl Diagram". ✔️ This will generate a graph, which will resemble the one in the screenshot below. 𝗙𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀: 👉 The red nodes/dots provide an immediate visual representation of potential issues within the site (In the example, we can see how the "store safety" category has quite a few red nodes, with potential 404 or redirection issues). 👉 The dark green nodes/dots indicate the main categories and/or verticals within a site (In our Costa crawl, few examples of this would be "Nutrition", "History" or "Costa Club"). 👉 This is not on the screenshot, but if you hover over any of the nodes, you will get a detailed pop-up indicating the URL path, server response, key metadata, word count and link metrics. Really love the functionality! This process works really if you want to get a 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗽𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘁: you'll still need to download your crawl if you need to work on your technical SEO. #marketing #seotips #seoaudit

The creative industry is plagued by trends. Chasing these on a superficial level in an attempt at relevance leads only to distraction and deeply unfulfilling outcomes. Marketing is on a par in this sense, particularly when it comes to planning, creating and deployment of content*. Some valuable observations still relevant today from my much better half… - - * more than ever we need bigger conversations defining the gap, value and applications between “content” and key art/creative. They are differents beasts entirely.

Yes, it is likely your agencies fault, in that they like to farm your account and not hand the keys over... but is this true for you or YOUR business? Yesterday, I sat with an excellent client teaching them how to build content using their website. They requested the training because they know they need to be 100% independent in operating their business. They were savvy enough to recognise this is a skill they need in-house, and humble enough to recognise that getting help to learn it was a more cost effective and sustainable solution than outsourcing it to an agency. Similarly, one of my Marketing Agency mentee's faced an issue recently, where their client was essentially being held hostage by a rogue staff member and their "marketing buddy", through the alleged and contrived "complexity" of editing their website, and creating content for it. In short, lies were being told to obtain business for personal gain - weaponising ignorance about websites, at my agency clients' expense. I see this kind of behaviour in at least half of clients - where their website is a millstone around their neck both commercially and practically. Like most Marketing procurement, if you dont know where to put your cash and effort, it WILL come back and bite you in the butt. Unfortunately a lot of Marketers / Agencies like to specify solutions, especially technical or web-based solutions with a very toxic focus: BBB. "Bullshit Baffles Brains" ✅️ It does NOT need to be this way. ✅️ You CAN take over the growth and leveraging of your website. ✅️ It is NOT too complex, technical or difficult. ✅️ You CAN create your own amazing content. ✅️ You should NOT have to pay hundreds to have someone else create a single web page for you. ⚙️ Helpful tech tools ⚙️ Next up in my series of helpful tech tools I’ve found over the years is IFTTT: If That Then That. IFTTT is a platform which lets you join apps, devices and services by creating automations between them. For example, if you post a new blog to your WordPress site, you can set up an automation for a tweet to go out at the same time. If you’re a big user of Zoom (as I am), you can ask IFTTT to send you a weekly digest of the meetings you’ve attended. Here’s how it works: 1️⃣ Choose your trigger – a new blog post, approaching spacecraft, a particular date or frequency etc. 2️⃣ Choose your action – what do you want to happen? 3️⃣ Name your automation/‘applet' – e.g. ‘When I post a new blog on the website, post a tweet’ Simple! 😨 Are you scary? 😨 Your potential customers are coming to your website and your socials to try and reassure themselves that YOU are a SAFE person to do business with. 😳 Before they even consider WHAT you actually offer, they want to know WHO you are. Before feeling confident enough to reach out to you, they will probably be asking themselves.... 1) Does this person share my values? 2) Will I feel comfortable with them? 3) Are they a "safe" person to do business with. By "safe" I don't mean stranger danger, I mean will they feel "comfortable" with you. Are you trust worthy? So if someone is coming to your website or socials with those questions...are they getting the answers they need to ensure they do reach out to you? The chances are if they are finding a load of wordy copy...they might scroll on to your competitor. Bot clicks are ruining your reporting data when it comes to email. Let me explain... You may have noticed in your Klaviyo account that your click rate has suddenly shot through the roof. This is due to inbox providers scanning your links to make sure they are safe for readers. The result is 'out of the ordinary' click rates that may then attribute to sales when the reader didn't even click on that email. While that looks cool, it's nowhere near accurate. To check if you are being affected by Bot Clicks: 1. Go to the Metrics tab in your Klaviyo account 2. Select 'Clicked Email' 3.
