Today Keir Starmer made it very clear of the goals and mission of UK in the next 5 years and AI is definitely the hero of the conversation. We are still in very early stages of AI adoption and enterprises who are adopting it to solve public sector problems, healthcare, energy, jobs , research and education is going to be key. As a recent migrant and a advocate of tech, its important for societies and people to get comfortable using AI for their daily needs and also feel safe. We need every major city to take initiatives in their AI centre of excellence to bring in people to play around with AI and us as technology enablers find these issues and tell them how to use AI to do that. This needs a cultural , mindset and a community focussed shift to bring in this change to use AI as an important aspect of life to optimize, plan, predict, be efficient , productive, creative and more both professionally and personally. I am very keen to understand who is advocating and leading this effort in the UK and other ecosystems. #ai #uk #london #tech #advocate

Great to talk up the benefits of AI for SMEs in the latest Business Network! Recent research by the British Chambers of Commerce suggests 43% of small businesses have no plans to introduce AI. Obviously, we at Digital Planning Limited think they should reconsider! Therefore, I propose a three-stage approach for SMEs to get involved at a level that's comfortable for them: 1. Introduce AI tools for everyday tasks like content creation and customer service. 2. Enhance existing management systems by integrating AI chatbots with internal documentation 3. Customize AI solutions for complex operations like resource allocation. AI adoption can significantly boost productivity. Great to be part of the Scalers panel at the ScaleUp Institute conference this week. Here's a thought: 🚀 There are 34,180 Scale-ups in the UK at the moment generating a staggering £1.4TR to the UK economy (55% of all SME - despite only being 0.6% of SME population); 🧑‍🧑‍🧒 25% of these expect to grow revenue or employees > 50% this coming year; 👩‍🎓 50% offer opportunities to young people via Apprenticeships, Internships and work experience; So, they REALLY matter! However, there are only c.6,000 (17%) of these Scale-ups in the £10m-£50m revenue space. A huge number don't reach £10m revenue, which is a base line for PMF and PCF (for more detail see here: https://lnkd.in/eH8SVxMd). Talent and Funding remain the key blockers that Scale-ups point to..... But, perhaps what is really needed is support from angels and early stage investors, advisors, NEDs, and government agencies to be laser focused on helping businesses achieve core Product Market Fit BEFORE distracting them with conversations around scaling? Perhaps, more angel funding should be staged with milestones around PMF metrics rather than "months of runway"? Perhaps early stage Board energy and metrics should be focused first on "are we improving PMF" before "how did we perform vs our budget"? If we could support at least 25% of businesses (rather than 17% currently) to reach this £10m-£50m revenue space, the benefits to the economy would be huge! 👏 Huge congrats to Irene Graham OBE and Sherry Coutu CBE - your impact is massive! 🙏 Big thanks to Alexandra Depledge, MBE Tom Adeyoola and Steve Rigby for their great insights. Stephanie Cassee is spot on. This is exactly what our customers say, that they have found procurements to be far more successful when there is engagement with suppliers before starting the formal part of the procurement – that way they can better understand the sorts of features and innovations that are available on the market, and which of these can best help them. They can then specify these innovations when the formal part of the procurement is underway, resulting in a solution that better meets the needs of the authority. Councils looking to procure a new EMS, please have a quick look at this short article by my colleague.
