Projects

  • Individual Project - Using Computer Vision to Perform Vehicle Speed Analysis

    -

For my final year project as part of the Computer Science Tripos, I'm building a system that uses modern computer vision techniques to identify vehicles within a camera frame, determine vehicle number plates, and give an estimation of vehicle speed from a single camera reading using geometric calculations.

The final dissertation received a mark of 88/100, and received a mention as 'highly commended'.

Worked with Frontier Developments on an extensive group project as part of the Computer Science Tripos. The project involved building an adaptive multi-user chat system using a configurable grammar, allowing users to converse through the stringing together of grammatical tokens.

My work on the project involved writing a parser to build an abstract tree representation of a given grammar expressed in Extended Backus–Naur Form, as well as the system's user interface. I also operated as the team's 'Build Master', ensuring that the continuous integration build of the system was passing tests as required.

At the project conclusion, I gave a presentation of the system to a large audience (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfApAsgP0m4).

Honors & Awards

  • Highly Commended Dissertation for the Computer Science Part II Individual Project

    University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory

My dissertation for my individual project, 'Using Computer Vision to Perform Vehicle Speed Analysis', completed as part of Part II of the Computer Science Tripos at the University of Cambridge, was one of the 7 that was highly commended by the examiners.
