Back in April, (in what felt like a bit of a rush of blood to head at times), I left the amazing team at Odyssey VC took a leap of faith and joined an incredible startup as the Head of Marketing. The last couple of months have been a hectic blur of SaaS stealth brand building madness...(with a wedding thrown in for good measure).. all leading to the official launch of Verodat in San Francisco last week. I could not be more proud to introduce Verodat: a data supply chain platform that gets your business data AI-ready. Transforming raw data into an enriched data layer. This enriched data layer is the key to unlocking AI’s true potential, eliminating errors and reducing hallucinations. Transitioning back to a startup environment has been incredible. The energy, the dedication, and the sheer genius of the team has been infectious. I will be the first to admit I was on the sceptical side of the real world applications of AI for business, but what I have seen the team and our clients achieve has been mind blowing! The potential of our platform is immense, and I can’t wait to see where we go from here. A big shoutout to the entire Verodat team for their hard work and dedication in getting us to launch! Last week, I was fortunate to speak with Andrew Silard, the head of Growth Marketing at Notion, to hear his vision on how unstructured data could be helpful for marketing teams. There is one key learning I want to give away 👇 There are many social monitoring tools today. However, they are often viewed as a cost center. On the other hand, marketers are drowning in social channels, looking for trending topics or memes to generate new ideas. How do we bridge this gap? In Andrew’s words: “Turn it from monitoring into helping me draft all of my content.” Another way I like to describe this is “Proactive Intelligence,” a code name Apple uses for its proactive AI features on iPhone. It is a data-driven approach to spot trending topics or memes on social platforms and proactively inform marketers on what to post. With that, marketers can be enabled to be way more effective, and guess what? They can turn social monitoring into a revenue generator! So, what do you think are the prerequisites to make that happen? - First, this social data is unstructured and comes in large volumes. Modern data tools need a significant revamp to handle this data. - Second, the scope of the data team can be way bigger: in addition to product analytics, the data team can actually do way more with unstructured data with Generative AI, like helping marketing teams create better content. #data #learnings #inittogether

Shoppers can now buy gift cards for popular brands with the option to pay in instalments. Nuvei & BigCommerce Partner on Custom Payments: BigCommerce clients now have access to Nuvei’s flexible payment solutions, which support online and in-store payments, with perks like centralised management and same-day funding. Worldpay boosts Gaming Payments with Aeropay: In a move targeting the U.S. gaming market, Worldpay’s partnership with Aeropay will allow gamers to make instant deposits and withdrawals, set to launch in 2024. Dwolla and Plaid Streamline Bank Payments: Dwolla's integration with Plaid adds instant account verification and risk assessment to its Pay by Bank service, making account-to-account payments simpler and more secure for U.S. businesses. I’ve been fascinated by this startup and its concept. It’s on the intersect of technology, marketing and customer experience.
