Thurs 18 - Fri 19 July: an opportunity to learn integral development coaching One of the great delights for many people who join our two-day 'Foundations of Coaching' programme is how much there is to learn about ourselves in the process of learning how to be an integral development coach. In our way of understanding, coaching is an opportunity for two people to enter into the biggest questions - Who have I taken myself to be in this life? Who might I now become, in response to the my own deep longing and to the world? Who am I called to be, at this unique time? And what will that call for in the relationships I make, the possibilities I can imagine, and the actions I take? Learning together with those questions in mind, and on our lips, is also a wonderful way to make deep and lasting connections with others, to experience the joy of being up to something that matters - together. I reflected yesterday on the completion of the first module of our new course – Advanced Coaching Skills, accredited by the ICF (International Coaching Federation). It's true, when you do what you love, it doesn't feel like work. Working with a new group and sharing advanced techniques to support their growth as Coaches has been incredibly fulfilling. For what purpose - Systemic Team Coaching? As a member of faculty of Global Team Coaching Institute (GTCI), I am delighted to be the Coach host, presenting Module 3 - The Commissioning Discipline, with Professor Peter Hawkins next Wednesday morning. There are approx. 600 highly qualified coaches attending the practitioner Program to develop there skills further. In 2018 Peter wrote about the distinction between Mission, vision and purpose and eloquently said  "A mission captures the company's ambition, a vision shows what it will be like when success is achieved, but purpose defines who the company serves and the value it creates for them." Peter explains further that a purpose is not a set of goals or targets - those are the milestones on the journey, not the reason for the journey. He says "A purpose is built on who and what our collective work serves and the value we create for those stakeholders. It is our raison dʼetre and it needs to speak to the head and the heart, provide meaning to the head and passion and excitement to the heart and motivate and align the team. The purpose creates the team, not the team their purpose. The team purpose exists before a team comes into being, for it is the WHY the team is created. It is what gives birth to the team. Thus, the team cannot create its own purpose, but has to discover it." Beautifully put isn't it! This is the work we do as systemic team coaches. All the coaches completing the Systemic Team Coaching Program need to work with a team as part of the program. They work in Pairs, to co-coach. We still have a number of coaches seeking pro-bono opportunities, so if you would like to explore (and benefit from) systemic team coaching with skilled coaches for 3/6/9 months contact me directly and we can explore suitability. This is an amazing opportunity for organisations to benefit from work that can typically cost anything from $30,000 upwards (depending on the size and duration).
