Do you know the difference between unlicenced & licenced radios? 🎙️ or 🎙️?? Ofcom statistics show that only approximately 5% of all schools in the UK have active Ofcom licences. The main reason behind this is largely down to budgeting, but often also without a clear understanding around the safeguarding risks with unlicenced radios. It is important to highlight that licence-free radios work on open frequencies, allowing them to communicate with other radios outside of the organization, offering unwanted privacy invasions without awareness. Although licenced radios do expose themselves to Ofcom licence fees, the cost of which is relatively small (less than the cost of most two-way radios) they also offer greater security, privacy and internal control of your system. 💷 SMEs UNDERESTIMATE FINANCIAL TOLL 💷 Broadband ISP Sky Business (Sky Broadband) conducted a Censuswide survey, polling 353 UK decision-makers at SMEs. The findings uncovered that Sky's SecurityEdge filters successfully thwarted over 73 million malware, phishing, and bot attacks in the past year. Despite this, SMEs yet to encounter a cyberattack are still unaware of its potential financial repercussions. According to the survey, UK SMEs believe they would need to halt trading for an average of four days after a cyberattack.
