I think I pissed the chef off, but c’mon man I just wanted a nice plate! Whilst visiting the grandparents, we took the rare opportunity to head out to a local gastropub. The place looked fantastic with great atmosphere, incredible-looking food. I ordered the steak, not my usual go-to, but it looked too good to pass up. However, my excitement quickly faded when the steak arrived on my worst nightmare: the dreaded slate. 😬 I was genuinely surprised they were still using these! The texture against cutlery... it’s like dragging fingernails down a blackboard for me. But, in true English fashion, I politely raised my hand, like a kid asking to go potty in assembly. "Sorry, would you mind serving this on a plate?" The server looked bemused but took it away, and with the open kitchen, I could see the chef’s annoyance at my ‘unusual’ request. It got me thinking: just because something looks good, doesn’t mean it works. Design isn’t just about appearances; it’s about the experience. I am often asked this one simple question. How do I get more clients? My answer-not wanting to sound like a politician at this point, is varied depending on the stage your business is. But these things when done consistently will make an impact and bring more engagement and enquiries, and ultimately more clients. Have a vision- the stronger the vision the easier it is to do engaging authentic thought provoking content Nail your niche- know who you are talking too, it’s so much easier Find an ideal client, have a deep dive into their lives Think about 5 ways you as a coach can hang out where that client is and start opening up conversations Connect and collaborate with other coaches. This is a powerful way to grow not only your network, but your business.
