https://lnkd.in/eDi9F7As In my discussions with #architects and #engineers using #Computationaldesign, Rick Titulaer and the team at Arup blew me away with the sophistication of their approach, and internally developed software stack built around #Grasshopper3d that they use both internally, and share with clients to reduce friction in the data flow, and open multi objective analysis driving design decisions. This video from #CDFAM Berlin showcases their approach, and gives a hint at the depth of their internal capabilities with and software. I encourage designers and engineers outside of AEC to watch the video, and think about this approach may be adopted to fields at other scales, and what is needed from software, and data flow (cough #metadata, cough 3MF) to allow for information from multiple sources to drive decisions by multiple stakeholders.

How might #experiencedesign and new definitions of #technology inspire new urban spaces? I had the pleasure of speaking with my colleague Oliver Schaper about provocations that could affect #human #experience in the built environment: "Many people, agnostic of being in urban space or any part of the built environment, still come to technology through the lens of a two-dimensional, screen-based experience. We see that in the consequences of street kiosks being the totems for urban technological infrastructure. Experience in cities is also ambulatory. It's ephemeral.
