📰NEWS: NIHR is investing £7.8 million in Applied Research Collaborations (ARCs) to enhance knowledge mobilisation within the health and social care sector. 🚀To support the initiative, ARCs will appoint knowledge mobilisation fellows who will act as vital links between ARCs and health and care organisations. These fellows will be trained to capture and communicate the needs of local decision-makers, identify evidence-based treatments, and facilitate their integration into practice alongside practitioners and service users. 🌟NIHR ARC Kent Surrey and Sussex (ARC KSS) has been awarded £560,000 for a three-year period starting 1 October 2024. This funding will help bridge research-practice gaps and foster innovation and collaboration within the region. Exciting news from the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR): They've launched a FREE course on Community Engagement and Involvement in Global Health Research. The course consists of 7 modules. They can be taken in any order and there is no time limit for completion. After successful completion of each end-of-module quiz, a certificate can be obtained. Fantastic new paper published by Hannah Pitt and colleagues calling attention to support for researchers who work in health harming industries research such as tobacco and gambling! According to Pitt et al. (2024), over 70% of their 28 participants experienced stress, and 55% were burnt out by undertaking research in health harming industries. Integrated researcher access to health data has just been secured https://lnkd.in/ebvJn5Dg Through the LINDAHRS project Now we need the AAA initiative to get back proper and fully usable road safety and crash data to mature and become linkable to the AIHW holdings as well to open up real gains in understanding both age retardant and mode related understandings not currently possible I for one would be using it, so too would other parties concerned at the “unduly e inimical” access to road safety data still practiced (by bodies such as TAC and VicRoads)
