What a busy week at Utili-Tay Manufacturing seems to be an industry that 'Hungry Sales Brokers' are looking at to make the highest commission possible...!! I saw a quote from another provider today with a 3p per unit uplift... Luckily we were able to cancel the agreement. I've probably got a target on my head now for someone not getting their £22k commission but that's what I do 😀 Utili-Tay see Manufacturing as an industry that deserves honest and trusted advice due to primarily larger consumption than most businesses. We've just assisted several companies with not only Energy Procurement but the fact they can now see where their Energy Consumption is generated from with our Monitoring Equipment. They can now use the data to make decisions of which will reduce their consumption, equaling costs. Car tax band changes after Rachel Reeves' budget mean some drivers will pay up to £5,490 in 2025 The Government has announced it will increase standard Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) rates for cars, vans and motorcycles in line with inflation Major changes to vehicle tax announced in the Budget could result in petrol and diesel vehicle owners facing a tax bill of £5,490 next year. The Government has declared that from April 1, 2025, standard Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) rates for cars, vans, and motorcycles will increase in line with inflation. Drivers purchasing new vehicles emitting over 255g/km of CO2 after this date are expected to be particularly hard hit with VED rates as they double next year. The new rates 0g/km - £0 will rise to £10 1 to 50g/km - £10 will rise to £110 51 to 75g/km - £30 will rise to £130 76 to 90g/km - £135 will rise to £270 91 to 100g/km - £175 will rise to £350 101 to 110g/km - £195 will rise to £390 111 to 130g/km - £220 will rise to £440 131 to 150g/km - £270 will rise to £540 151 to 170g/km - £680 will rise to £1,360 171 to 190g/km - £1,095 will rise to £2,190 191 to 225g/km - £1,650 will rise to £3,300 226 to 255g/km - £2,340 will rise to £4,680 Over 255g/km - £2,745 will rise to £5,490

Six new DAF XG 450 6x2 tractor units have joined the Newell & Wright Transport fleet. These are the first DAF trucks to feature in the shipping container haulage and rail freight specialist’s fleet since 2019. The new XGs join a fleet of 105 vehicles following successful fuel economy trials. The vehicles average around 10.5mpg which is close to a 20% improvement over previous generation DAF models. Scenario... Customer asks for availability on 2 vans.. I make contact with 2 separate suppliers... (both of whom have supplied this customer for me previously).. Second supplier asks me where they need to be £ wise, so I advise them.. Second supplier also asks me postal code so they can work out total vehicle price including delivery.. In between this contact, the customer then emails advising that the second supplier has offered at a lower price.. At no time did I divulge the customer names, only a postal code near by for delivery... Am I being paranoid here, or is it all about trust?? The markets are quiet at present for all of us, but surely making contact and working in what may be an underhand way isn't very ethical is it? Or am I too old school and have morals which include not 'stealing' potential business?? I have been in the business 11 years now, and its becoming more challenging daily - or am I just whining??
