Agile is Dead - Long Live Agile We've all read the many posts stating that agile is dead (for clicks) - There seem to be fewer students on training courses - There seem to be fewer consultant gigs being offered - There seems to be more negativity about agility But agility, as I recognize it, has been going since the 1940's It's changed a number of times since then and It's changing now If you want agile to stay the same, you're probably in the wrong business Catch the next wave

This course covers - how Kanban can complement Scrum - How we can bring life to Scrum events - How we can make data-guided decision The course provides actionable insights, and our learners agree! With HMRC advertising for 5000 new Tax Compliance Officers to fill the tax black hole that Labour say they have inherited why are we still reading stories of large tech companies paying considerably less UK tax on their profits than they should be due to 'financial chicanery'. HMRC are pushing the narrative that tax avoidance is the same as tax evasion yet do nothing to ensure compliance from the biggest companies in the world. Will the new Tax Compliance officers be dealing with this? I'm sure they would pay if, like Brazil has done with X (formally Twitter), they were blocked from the internet in the UK. The loss of £27 Billion in revenue would soon have them backing down. As an aside, if they won't pay the proper tax then they should not be granted taxpayer funded contracts.

Agile Nottingham never disappoints! Last night's session was particularly enlightening as we delved into StrongSuits, a fascinating tool for personal and team development. From a vast array of 52 possible strengths, I narrowed my top strengths down to these 5:  - Clarity - Responsiveness - Listening  - Optimism - Resilience Do you agree? Disagree? There are many different ways of churning out low value "stuff"... Scrum was never meant to be one of them. So many teams I talk to say they use Sprint Goals but then admit those Sprint Goals are "Do all the stuff". Sprint Goals are meant to... 💥 Motivate 💥 Help the team understand the value they are delivering 💥 Guide the team when they have to make tough trade-offs 💥 Focus everyone on what's important 💥 Ensure we're working towards our over-arching vision or Product Goal "Do all the stuff" accomplishes none of this. Choose better Sprint Goals and you'll get more value from your teams. Or as my little green friend would say... "Demand everything and certain failure is." * Yoda meme blatantly stolen from Blake McMillan's Scrum Memes.
