Much of the elements of Georgian architecture are evolved from the Classical principles first seen in the traditions of ancient Greek and Roman architecture.   The evolutions are continual but often reference back to earlier times. The first floor window on this Georgian townhouse includes what is known as a Venetian or Serlian (after Sebastiano Serlio) window. A Venetian window is a three part window with the central part being arched topped and the two symmetrical sidelights being shorter. The architectural series I have prepared lately exlusively for the AI 2024 Tajassom festival in Teheran are the resultant of the research for the best suitable architectural theme. In coherence with the word "Tajassom" meaning, as well as the attempt of catching the ephemeral spirit of Persian heritage, merged with the new cutting edge technology as modern and sleek design is making the history and the future intertwining and speaking though spaces. How to talk about culture and heritage one does not know that much about as would want to? How to research fully, complex intricate spatial relations in architecture and interiors already defined by centuries in history, by society, different climate conditions and cultural dependencies. The answer you probably would expect to read now is AI. You prompt those. The better you prompt the closer you get. Still, whole process is filtered and pushed through extremely biased medium which is image generator itself. It is built this way. One would not get full depth picture, personalized approach, make any statement nor send any message without the human factor which is who we are - our background, education, skill, sensitivity, heritage, experiences lived, successes and failures, books red, travels and people met on that way that made, molded us in to who we are now. And this is what Tajassom meant for me while working on this suite – bringing myself as a creator and human being into the supercharged blending machine of words and images in a search for uniqueness and answers. Humanization of AI approach. Images presented in Tajassom series are the attempt to talk about use of intricate ornamentation on minimalist forms. Use of complex geometries and mathematic patterns in a fluid and natural harmonious shapes. About importance of bringing nature into the architecture, about the soft play of sun and shadows. Space quality. The Old and the New together. About the beauty and not rationalizing. The coexisting opposites. The importance of a human factor within the biased AI creative process. BIM is not a role but a competency! Today I talked to Ruzena Aebi Senoldova from the Podcast "Good Vintage" and we this topic came up. I believe this is the key to understand and shape digital transformation of AEC, it's not enough to delegate the digital side to one side of the team and the rest does business as usual. On the other side the Role of a BIM Manager and BIM Coordinator is of a enabler and of a "BIM daddy" and not of the digital go to person to fix everything. What do you do when you have 1000+ files with names in a different language? 🚀 I recently faced the daunting task of renaming multiple folders and files with names in Russian to English. As you can imagine, doing this manually would have been incredibly time-consuming and prone to errors. But thanks to the power of AI, specifically ChatGPT, this task turned from a challenge into an insightful and rewarding experience! ✨ Here's a quick rundown of how I did it: 1. Identified the Problem: I had several folders and files with names in Russian that needed to be translated to English. 2. Turned to AI for Help: Leveraging ChatGPT, I was able to get a comprehensive solution. 3. Scripted the Solution: Using Python and the googletrans library, I created a script to automate the translation and renaming process. (I have put the python script in the comments) 4. Implemented and Executed: The script walked through the directory tree, translating and renaming both files and folders with ease. 5. Enjoyed the Results: What would have taken hours manually was completed in minutes, all thanks to AI! This experience highlighted the incredible potential of AI to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. It's amazing to see how technology can simplify complex tasks and open up new possibilities! Last week, we had the opportunity to join the neighborhood association Pro Meri-Rastila at Kulttuuritila Merirasti to discuss the possibility of architecture without new construction. The discussion raised an important question: are extensive demolition and market-driven housing projects truly the solution to the complex challenges faced by many neighborhoods? During the conversation, one resident highlighted the interim period between demolition and new construction in urban restructuring projects. This led to a suggestion for smaller-scale interventions: "Maybe we could start with minor fixes, like cleaning graffiti from the mall's exterior or repainting the old health center, which is to remain in place. He oversees the process of designing for robotic fabrication, from design and technology reflection, to the creation of the actual code – the brief for the robots. “Complex organic shapes generated by topological optimization methods can only be created by robotic fabrication. We are applying the structural, material and aesthetic possibilities of So Concrete technology, among other things, to a project of modular hybrid façade panels. These combine structural, visual and thermal insulation functions.
