This is an iconic deal in the landscape of English cricket and possibly world cricket. GMR Group and Hampshire County Cricket Club and its assets, currently owned by Rod Bransgrove, have agreed to an aquistion! Rod has been such a huge contributor to the game in the UK. I personally think this deal will be the catalyst to opening the gates to further Indian investment into English cricket (not new news) which points towards a bigger holistic future of players being centrally contracted by franchises (not countries). There will be mixed views on this deal and the the future of state of world cricket. https://lnkd.in/gFKvGPsN

Solve the biggest challenge in sports performance with this simple fix. In elite sports teams, one of the biggest challenges isn’t just injury rates, availability or player performance - it’s alignment. We don't like it when these things happen. - Misaligned goals - Fragmented communication - Siloed departments Each of these create chaos, rather than collaboration and connection. Here’s the simple fix: a shared, actionable framework. The goal is balance on this 'scorecard' per se. Focus on these 4 pillars: 1️⃣ Communication: Ensure clarity, consistency, and transparency across all departments, especially where medicine and performance intersect. Think interdisciplinary. 2️⃣ People Development: Invest in staff growth to foster leadership, buy-in and trust. Systems and processes are key, but people first. 3️⃣ Systems and Processes: Align workflows to streamline efficiency. Lean into 5S principles and other methods to standardise operational prodecures...how things run to a high level, minimising chances of missteps. 4️⃣ Player Availability and Injuries: Track and optimise key metrics to achieve your ultimate goal, keeping robust and capable players on the field...especially your best ones. They help with the W:L. Simple, basic math - that makes the difference! When everyone is aligned under a unified system, the ripple effects are MASSIVE. Like these... - Improved performance - Tighter cohesion and fewer conflicts as a by-product - A culture of excellence The question isn’t why you need this. It’s when you’ll REALLY start. I put that in capitals for a reason. #performance #systems #culture

Consistent performance is merely a bi-product of consistent preparation. Want to help your players dribble past defenders with confidence? The latest Mental Rehearsal Track added to the YouStrive Toolkit can help them do just that. The YouStrive Mindset App helps young footballers build awareness and consistency into their weekly preparation with a few minutes a day. Once habits and routines are established… the toolkit makes it easy for them to maintain consistency. #footballmindset #youstrive #consistency #discipline

Padel is growing and we have a realistic ambition to lead its growth in the UK. There are two strands to our model: 1 - Outdoor canopied sites enjoy lower costs. Rent is dramatically lower, and even after adjusting for the cost of adding canopies our 'all in' annual cost is low enough to give us a significant profit advantage over 'indoor' courts. 2 - Good coaching ensures that new players get the bug. Almost everyone who gets on a padel court has fun. But to get players hooked it is critical to invest in the support to turn an enthusiastic newbie into a regular player. Our investment in outstanding coaching allows us to build a stronger business. We have a model that works and a pipeline that is ready to build out. Come and join us on Crowdcube as we accelerate on our journey. Crowdcube Jacob Symes Daniel Sparkes Jessica Windsor Carson Russell

How to Deal with Cheating in Junior Tennis https://lnkd.in/ehvaC2QH It’s rare for me to go through a junior tennis weekend without having to hear one of my players discuss their opponents line calls. We record almost every match, so we get to see if their opponent’s call was correct. Sometimes they were. Sometimes they weren’t. What’s always going to be the case is there’s nothing that can be done about the call. Once the call has been made, it’s done. You’ll never be able to overturn it without a referee physically present to overrule your opponent’s call. So the most important thing becomes learning how to deal with the call once it’s been made. And this is emotionally difficult. The sport is already one of the most difficult ones for kids to compete in because they’re alone on the court. No one can help them deal with situations, or calm them down. They have to do it on their own. So when you have teenage kids going through puberty, feeling like they were just cheated, it’s going to be difficult for them to keep their focus, and maintain a high level of play. Hopefully this blog can help kids, college players (yes they make their own calls too), and parents handle these unavoidable situations. #tennis #tennislife #tenniscoach #tennisplayer #tenniscoach #tennistips

This was such a massive risk to take as a company, one we toiled over for years, always combing through the many pro's and con's of hitting go. Ultimately though, our target market would always buy an S&C programming software before us (especially in the US), so we had to seriously consider it. The conversations always came back to two options: 1. Do we play it safe and double down on our Athlete Management System, fast-tracking some of the updates we want to make (a never ending list, I assure you) OR 2. Do we throw sail to the wind and build a piece of the puzzle we KNOW will add value to our current and future clients by having an S&C programmer in the one app. Both options would have benefited the company greatly, but one was way more uncomfortable and exciting. So, here we are... We have worked with some elite S&C coaches around the world to bring you the most efficient, user-friendly and customisable S&C programming software on the market. Sports is not about a destination, and it means alot more than wins/losses (destinations). It is a process, it is a journey. Wins/losses is just a pitstop, and another pitstop. In recent #ICS2024 coaching workshop organized by Coaching Division of National Sports Institute of Malaysia, I did not stop highlighting the importance of growth and learning. Simply because nothing stays constant, hence keep seeking for another heights. #sportpsychology #esports #performancecoach #growthmindset #highperformanceculture
