Genuinely shocked at some emails I've seen this week. I've got a tasty insight into the world of creator-lead content briefs & campaigns (thanks to Beth having 70K+ followers and brands like Sides, Tim Hortons UK & Ireland Ltd. & more reaching out to her). I must say, some of the briefs I've seen (excluding the above) are absolutely horrifying. HUGE brands with insane budgets scatter-gunning robotic, super structured and deeply un-engaging content briefs. I get that brands at higher levels probably have budgets to fire out briefs to 500+ small creators with a focus on visibility, not quality. It annoys me that there's no willingness to work with creators 1-to-1 to create something that is not only genuinely engaging but also authentic to that creator. Briefs that TELL a creator what to create make no sense to me. Briefs should provide the foundations, focus points and give creative freedom to the individual that has built their follower-base. Don't make me start an influencer agency... 😂👀

Hunter & Gather: Taking risks as a challenger brand.   If you hadn't heard of the food and supplements brand before, you probably have more recently after their Now We Rise campaign was released to the streets of London last week.   The campaign calls out big players in the market (such as major competitors like Heinz and Hellmann's) in the most obvious way possible: Plastering on a billboard what they do, that others don't.   And, in an even less subtle way, using competitor slogans to do it.   What do we know makes marketing stand out?   Bravery.   And 'brave' sums up this campaign pretty well.   H&G know their USP, they know how they're different, and they're not afraid to shout about it (or go up against billion-pound companies to do so).   The campaign was built to inform. To "question the big brand players in our industry" and "educate people on how to rise above the noise and to eat and live more naturally".   I'd say it's done exactly that.   We already know timing is everything. In an age of prime wellness and authenticity (the true buzzwords of 2024), what people are actually consuming on a day-to-day basis is more important to them than ever. So why not let them know? For me, this campaign is a success, but has it inspired you to buy?

I have some bittersweet news… Today is my last day at Ammo Marketing. I am leaving the wonderful team and furthering my career in a new role. 🎉 (Stay tuned - I am very excited) I want to thank the team Cam Sinclair, Jack Hallam, Alex Di Giovanni, and Liam Barden. Alongside working with Terina L., Teihla Clark, and Lewis Hallam over the years. Thank you to Arabella Casey-Sinclair for also always being there for me/us. 2 years ago, I started as an intern. If you ask the team who I was back then, it would differ slightly from who I am now. I was quiet, hidden in my shell - new to the marketing world. I was scared to share my opinions or ideas. (now I won't shut up) Ammo has let me grow as an individual and thrown me into unique situations where I could thrive and test my skills. They trusted me to build the newsletter, their content, the content calendar, work with clients and start the social media service. I also got to mentor & teach interns during my time, Angela Sebastian & Sean (thanks for letting me guide you). Ammo supports their team to work on side hustles and projects. This allowed me to start freelancing, starting from photography to content creation. This taught me a lot about communication and management of workloads while enhancing my own skills. Throughout the years I have had good laughs and memories with the team (a few tears too), some of my favourites: 💸 Thinking I spent $4k on Ammo’s ad campaign (first time launching it) and thinking I was going to get fired. 🥚 Cracking an egg and it exploded all over my laptop, and then having to tell the team what had happened. 🚙 The team has dealt with my many car issues like getting my car towed, flat batteries, and recently ripping off the front bumper of my car - which I now claim was a team-building exercise as we spent Friday afternoon working together acting like we were mechanics to fix it. (Instead of going to the pub ) All aside from the funny moments, here are my favourite projects: 📲 Working with IDEA to build their social media strategy (also hanging out with two cool founders Nicole Gazey & Rebecca Loftus) 🎙️ Working on the Weird Growth podcast and meeting many wonderful founders. 📅 Building a content calendar that people actually used. Then creating a content service which allowed me to research and trial many things. 🎞️ Building a film camera culture into Ammo 🗞️ Doubling the Ammo newsletter list alongside with Alex Di Giovanni and moving it onto LinkedIn. I am forever grateful for the team and everything I have learned. ☺️ 💻✨
