Now that it has been more than a week since MAD//FEST LONDON, I've had a chance to reflect on the panel discussion titled 'Connected TV: What Do Brands and Agencies Need to Know?' 📺 Education, Education, Education CTV/OTT is growing exponentially and becoming increasingly complicated. Agencies and brands need to use DSPs that truly empower them. It's crucial not only to activate CTV as part of their omnichannel strategy but also to provide the necessary support and education. When used effectively, it can be a powerful tool for clean and effective storytelling. ↘⤵⤴↘ Fragmented Landscape There is still a lot of work to do! As a channel, CTV is still fairly fragmented, which can cause challenges from delivery to reporting. Publishers, SSPs, and DSPs need to consolidate further. There's a lot of work to be done, but as an industry, we will get there! As Black History Month comes to a close, I wanted to celebrate some inspiring campaigns that perfectly capture this year's theme - reclaiming the narrative 🖤 ✨ ASOS: Sunday Best Photoshoot ASOS.com highlighted cultural significance through an internal photoshoot inspired by the "Sunday Best" tradition in Black communities. This campaign honours a long-standing custom of self-expression, identity, and community. By featuring their Black employees, ASOS celebrates personal stories and amplifies Black voices within their team. ✨ Gymshark: Twists 'n' Sets Pop-Up Did you know 45% of Black women avoid the gym due to hair maintenance concerns? Gymshark tackled this with their Twists 'n' Sets pop-up hair store, in collaboration with Ruka Hair. By introducing the Diffuse Sweat Headband and offering personalised styling services, Gymshark empowers Black women to pursue fitness goals while honouring their identity, promoting inclusivity in fitness. She leaves some enormous boots to fill - but those boots ‘jugging” rock. In those 5 years we have managed to position brand as one of the central moats that is going to drive the success of the bank forward. This isn’t about advertising and marketing but Total Branding where we drive a vision and understanding of our customers across employee culture, product, service experience and then comms to drive unapologetically a bank people might actually give a *%#> about. This is a role where you can really make a difference. To quote someone I deeply admire “we don’t mow the lawn, we landscape the garden. So if you have a pair of shoulders to put out and anything about this post has tickled your fancy please get in touch in my DMs (Job post not live but keen to hear and will repost when it is) - post is 12 mths mat cover - the role is contracted to Milton Keynes but the office is a literal stones throw from the station.
