Ever had this conversation? Client: "We're hiring a Sales Manager. Can you help?" Collins Property Recruitment: "Absolutely! Tell us more." Client: "Based in Battersea, we've been looking for 6 weeks, salary is X. Who do you have?" Collins: "Thank you, but we need to know much more than that." Client: "Oh, really? Just send me who you have." Collins: "Sorry, doesn't work like that. We need to spend at least 45 minutes to an hour with you, ideally at your office, getting to know your team, company culture, the role, your expectations, and requirements. This is a partnership, and without the right details, it will fail." Collins: "Think of it like when you list a new property. You meet the vendor or landlord, get to know the property, and explain how you can help, which will take around an hour and possibly more depending on the size." Good Client: "That makes complete sense. When can you come in?" Bad Client: "That's ridiculous. I don't have time for that. Just send me who you have." Moral of the story: Don't work with clients or recruiters who don't want to meet, take a full brief, and run a proper process.
