About
UK-Based Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Criminology and Policing, committed to advancing gender equality and social justice through research-led teaching, trainings and community engagement.
My research primarily focuses on all forms of gender-based violence against women and girls, including domestic violence and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), particularly within marginalised communities; migration and trafficking; feminist jurisprudence and decolonial approaches to crime and justice. I am particularly interested in exploring the intersections of power, identity, and resistance within these areas. I am also an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) specialist interested in the quality and diversity of social engagement and participation in Britain, and how minoritised population groups establish and sustain social connections and relationships within and outside academia.
I am an active contributor to national and international conferences within these areas, where I present the findings of my research and lead seminars and training sessions. My collaborative efforts with NGOs, activists, and policymakers extend beyond the UK to other countries in Africa, Europe and Asia, marking me as a global advocate in my field.
