The future of digital: Zero click marketing Most platforms (search & social) today are prioritising not letting users leave their platform. Look at Google search. Less than half of searches on Google actually result in a website click. Most queries get answered on the knowledge graph or Google’s own services (like Youtube, maps) or 0th result and now through AI overviews, the number of clicks websites receive from search engines will reduce further. Take Youtube - which is the second most used search engine in the world, and it’s all videos. User behaviour on long format videos is clear - they want to continue their search on Youtube itself by clicking on relevant or recommended videos to complete their search. With shorts, you can hardly drive any traffic to your website. The same goes for other marketing channels like social media or podcasts - you can’t really drive traffic to your website. What does this mean? Three things: 1. Focus on brand building needs to be much heavier than ever - no longer can you use tactical ideas for web traffic to drive business growth. You will need to establish yourself as a brand online. You will have to build credibility and thought leadership, through content or partnerships or activations. 2. No longer can we rely on ‘last click attribution’ models to analyse traffic numbers - we will need to move towards inference based analytics to identify where users found us first. A podcast may never give you traffic as per your Google analytics but it doesn’t mean it’s of no use. 3. Reducing reliance on paid marketing will be priority to optimise your bottom line - the only activity left to drive web traffic will essentially be paid ads, which definitely aren’t a sustainable way to grow your business. Your margins will never be healthy in such a paid focused strategy. Hence, you will need to start investing in community building via content and influencers, referral marketing, building assets and IPs like FB / Whatsapp groups and communities, closely knit active group of loyalists, etc. The playbook for digital marketing definitely needs an upgrade. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀) Have you ever priced your product really low and still found no buyers? It seems logical that lower prices would attract more customers. Yet, reality often defies expectations. To make your products sell out fast (regardless of their price), remember the golden rule of product pricing: Customers don’t want cheap products; they want to feel like they’re getting a great deal. The same person who balks at paying Rs700 for your product today might happily spend Rs1,70,000 on a different product tomorrow. Usually, it’s not about the price tag. It’s all about how you present your offer. By altering the perception, you can greatly increase your product's perceived value and excite customers to make a purchase. There are two powerful ways to reframe your offer: 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 Marks & Spencer, Instead of comparing supermarket prices, they compared their price with dining out at a restaurant. They made you think about the cost of dining out at a restaurant. This instantly makes it seem like an incredible bargain! 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸 An effective offer stack can drastically improve your sales funnel. Much like JCPenney’s early success with frequent sales, an offer stack makes customers feel they’re getting massive value for their money. Especially when there’s a deadline involved. 𝐇𝐎𝐓 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄: 95% 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐂𝐑𝐎) 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 (𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲!) Building a solid DTC channel can be challenging. One of the biggest constraints on scale is your website's conversion rate (CR), which is one of the variables determining your Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC). You need to run A/B tests on your site to improve the CR. If you're under $5M/yr, I recommend learning (yes, youtube.com) to continuously test these 5 elements on your website. 1) 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 Try different copy on both, focusing on benefits rather than features and making the customer the hero, not the brand. 2) 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐭 Test different photos/pictures. Make sure it looks GREAT on mobile. You can try many concepts, but always show your products (or at least your hero product); make sure it looks fantastic, making you say "I want to have that!" 3) 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 For some reason, very few people work on this one, but its impact on your site is huge. A good menu will increase your CR and AOV meaningfully. Pay attention to mobile because 80% of your traffic comes from mobile devices. 4) 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐱 (that's on the product page where the add-to-cart button is) You can run several tests here: from image thumbnails vs. navigation dots and displaying ratings here or there to adding icons below the add-to-cart button to reduce perceived risk to buying. 5) 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 Test changing the order or removing some sections on your homepage or the landing page where you run your traffic. You read it right, sometimes more sections (information) might lead to lower CR. 6) 𝐑𝐮𝐧 𝐀/𝐁 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 Of course, you can increase your conversion rate by lowering prices; the question is: Will that gain compensate for lower gross profits? Another important question: If people are willing to buy at a higher price without a drop in CR, will these customers buy again at the same rate as before? Agree or disagree with me on this one?

Only rank on Google for your brand name and not much else? Here's how we fixed that for our client and increased leads by 83%. --- The problem: They were an established UK-based B2B supplier. Their name meant something in the industry. This credibility helped them rank well on Google for bottom-funnel, brand-related keywords e.g. “brand name + solution”. However, they appeared nowhere for non-brand keywords. Such as... "[solution]", "[solution] pricing", "how to install [solution]", and "[solution] calculator" etc. This limited their growth potential. It's a common issue. A company relies on brand searches but this eventually plateaus. Growth is tied to brand awareness alone. --- Why was this happening: There were two key issues at play... 1️⃣  Technical roadblocks and poor UX: A large website without a strategy, many employees had access and it had morphed over the years resulting in many issues. 2️⃣  Thin or missing content: Key solution pages were thin and therefore couldn't rank for non-brand terms. And the site lacked educational, top and middle funnel content. Our client didn’t have this issue but your website may… 3️⃣  A lack of authority: Your brand isn’t well-known in the industry and you haven't gained any backlinks. Google doesn't see you as an authority. --- How we fixed this: 1️⃣  Define: After a workshop to learn about the brand and its ideal customer, we ran our 200+ point website audit. Uncovering all the key issues - from site speed to UX. 2️⃣  Optimise: We overhauled the current pages on the site, ensuring solution pages had depth and resonated with their ideal customers. 3️⃣  Amplify: Then we moved on to producing new content. Starting with bottom-funnel, solution pages first as these deliver the best results lead-wise. With supporting content for high-profit solution pages next, targeting different stages of the funnel. Helping to guide customers through the buying process.
