🛢️ Oil Recycling Facility Prepares for Worst-Case Scenario with Zenith’s Resin Flooring Division A large oil recycling facility in the West Midlands needed to prepare for a potential oil spillage. With the expertise of Dave Cope and our resin flooring team, we installed a fixed bund wall around the internal perimeter to contain any spills. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Using rustic engineering bricks embedded in epoxy resin, we built a solid bund wall, coated with Eposcreed HD resin screed for durability and safety. The floor was shot-blasted and finished with oil-tolerant primer and two coats of slip-resistant Vebro High Chemical Resistance epoxy resin in a client-selected colour. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁: The client was thrilled with the result — a safe, long-lasting, and easy-to-clean solution that also met their aesthetic expectations. Travis Perkins Travis Perkins plc I cannot believe I had to send this E-mail, after a relationship spanning nearly 7 years, with different branches. "I have recently made a payment on account, and as you know, we rely on you as a regular supplier. It is, therefore, quite concerning to find significant pricing discrepancies when we conduct audits, particularly for products we purchase frequently. This recent invoice reflects a charge of £52.12 per pack, while the same product is available online for £34.74 per pack (reference: https://lnkd.in/eijy4MX7). This nearly £20 difference per roll results in an additional cost of approximately £480 for this order alone—without even negotiating potential discounts from the online supplier. While we understand that prices can vary, we expect our suppliers to offer competitive rates and ensure our continued trust. Unfortunately, in this case, we feel that this expectation has not been met." _________________________________________________________________________________ If you are in this construction game, do not assume that to these large suppliers, relationships mean anything - this is a blatant 'profit grab' and will cost this supplier more in the long run in lost custom. Incidentally, Jewson LBS Builders Merchants and Huws Gray we are carrying out the same audit across all of our big suppliers, hopefully some of you do care.

To all my building merchant connections past & present when trying to sort your customers out with the best prices in direct loads of bricks how do you personally feel about the registration of sites?? Whilst I understand that we all want the business with new and existing customers, but does the way in which we deal with pricing direct loads to site need drastically looking at? I have had an enquiry for an 11k load of either Oast or Autumn Russets for a dormant customer. I am now going to look like I don’t want his business because a competitor has already registered the site and is able to offer the cheaper price! In my opinion each merchant should be given the same price, the customer then chooses who he wishes to give the order to and in doing so the winning merchant has the ability to register the site and then get added discount. All thoughts both negative and positive welcome on this headache of a problem and ways you navigate these situations. #bricksales #customerservice #huwsgray #directtosite

Customer Complaints... A gift or a curse? RHOD TRADING sells Fibre cement, Plasterboard and garden tools into Retail hardware. Understanding retail is our business. Every business gets complaints. In Retail 14% of Customers have a complaint and handling a complaint is an important part of any training in your store. Don't take it personally when you receive a complaint but look at it as an opportunity! 1. BEAWARE OF THE IMPACT COMPLAINTS CAN HAVE - 4% of customers complain and the other 96% just leave your store.... But they tell 10 other people how bad your service was and will tell 6 people if their complaint was resolved. BAD news travels much faster than good news! 50% to 70% of people who have a complaint will do business with your store again if you resolve the complaint. 96% will do business with you if you resolve your complaint within 24hours. 20% of complaints relate to employee attitude and 40% of complaint lie with company procedures. the balance of complaints resides with customers having the wrong expectations (Source: kwik copy newsletter 2019) 2. L.E.A.R- A SIMPLE TECHNIQUE- L=Listen, E=Empathize, A=Ask questions, R=Resolve the problem, .......... 3. HOW DO WE LISTEN? - Make eye contact, nod in agreement, give verbal encouragement, display positive body language, ask questions and give a summary and feedback about how you can resolve the problem. 4.EMPATHISE WITH THE CUSTOMER- that means putting yourself in the customers shoes and seeing the situation form their perspective. Ask yourself how you would feel in their position. Use empath statements like "I can understand your disappointment"," You were right to let me know" , or " You did the right thing returning the item." 5. SEEK CLARIFICATION THROUGH QUESTIONING- Don't attempt to justify your position, as the customer is not interested in that. They want their issue resolved. DON'T interrupt, DON'T argue, DON'T lose your temper, DONT evade the issue, and always smile. 6. RESOLVE THE PROBLEM- Consider the lifetime value of the customer and not the cost of the issue.
