Real humans, really fast! Since day one, Market Dojo has been adamant on putting access to support at the front and centre of the service we provide. I was speaking with a client yesterday and they couldn't believe (in a good way) that our live chat function was provided via real humans and not AI bots! They're comparative experience was taking 5 minutes to even find out how to contact support and being faced with a 200 page manual or having to request a call back (sound familiar!) We have some unsung heroes in the support team at Market Dojo but I know every one of our clients hugely appreciates being able to get an answer from a real human in a prompt fashion. Unfortunately, it's often an overlooked piece of the puzzle when it comes to digitalisation of procurement systems. Yet, how much more comfortable are your users, stakeholders and SUPPLIERS going to be knowing they can get a live chat reply in less than 10 seconds on average! Further sales stats and tips to end the week on - Only 13% of customers believe a sales person can understand their needs. This is a worrying stat. It all starts and stops with the buyer. Good sales professionals are like a doctor diagnosing a patient’s illness. If you can’t uncover your customer’s problems and needs you don’t stand a chance at selling them a solution. - It takes 10 months or more for a new sales rep to be fully productive. Ineffective onboarding practices are an expensive problem for many sales organisations. I have only recently witnessed at first hand how damaging poor onboarding of new sales employees can impact their performance and the company culture in a negative way. Asking the new salesperson to watch online videos and answer multiple choice questions is not the quick and easy solution! - Retaining current customers is 6 to 7 times less costly than acquiring new ones. Think of COCA (cost of customer acquisition). You go through all that cost and time to bring onboard that new client, then not maximise the opportunities within that customer and retain them. Pay attention to your existing customers. The fact that they are engaged with your brand gives you an advantage that you’d be mistaken not to capitalise on. This is all about account management, up-selling and cross-selling. - After a presentation, 63% of attendees remember stories. Only 5% remember statistics. Storytelling is one of the most powerful techniques salespeople have to communicate and motivate. Using stories to make a connection with a prospect can greatly increase your ability to close deals. How has your product or service helped other companies? Do you have non negotiables? There's certain non negotiables I hold myself accountable towards as a sales person which I though I'd share. 🤔 Be genuinely curious - John McMahon mentions curiosity in 'The Qualified Sales Leader' as what seperates the best sales reps from others. 'Urgent Curiosity is critical to compressing sales cycles.' For me, it's about truly listening to who you're speaking with and be genuinely interested in learning more and uncovering what, if anything, you can help with. Don't just stop at the first answer - be genuinely curious and see where the conversation takes you. I remind myself of this before every meeting or call. 📖 Always be learning - When I find myself in a motivation slump it's normally when I'm not learning and trying new tactics to improve as a seller. So for me it's a non negotiable to be reviewing my calls and meetings regularly and trying new sales techniques. 🎉 Celebrate the wins - Sales can be a roller coaster at times. You can be on top of the world one day and rock bottom the next. Finding a balance is important and making sure you celebrate your wins is key for staying motivated. 👥Be a team player - If something works for me I make sure to share this with the team. It might mean you help the competition in your sales leaderboard but ultimately it will help your team, your company and make you a vital part of the sales team 🤝Do what you say you will - If you say you'll follow up by x date, do it, and if you can't - let them know you're delayed. It builds trust and a solid business relationship What would you add? #sales
