📢 Freedom Heat Pumps Ltd. Announcement 📢 We're currently receiving 30-50 consumer/homeowner enquiries per day for ThermaSkirt, and a significant number are looking to install an air source heat pump. My team are primed with the following response: 📞 "Buy your ThermaSkirt through an installer as part of your heat pump package, that way you get it VAT free!" 📞 Now look, ThermaSkirt isn't necessarily the cheapest thing out there so 20% is not to be sniffed at. Installers in turn want to buy their ThermaSkirt from the same place as they buy their heat pumps, and that's why a number of specialist suppliers are now offering underfloor heating and ThermaSkirt. So why aren't these suppliers offering radiators? Well radiators are a pain to stock in bulk. They're big and heavy and they come in so any shapes and sizes you need a lot of space and a lot of patience to stock and supply them. They're also a commodity product with practically no margin to be had. ThermaSkirt is available is standard lengths of 1.5m, 3.0m and 4.5m meaning that any property or properties can be fitted out with the same SKU profile. With only 6 SKUs you can supply properties of all shapes and sizes. Who will be joining the ThermaSkirt revolution next?! 😄

For anyone who does bill validation whether that's an energy consultant who has their own system or you use a software like Optima. You have to be able to adapt to any changes suppliers put in place and quickly 😎 There are constant changes to billing files and processes ( To obviously improve and enhance the customer experience 🤔 ) They don't provide EDIs or Electronic billing files to all customers (This is only reserved for certain customers 😕 ) They issue credit bills and re-bills months after the original bill - ( But at least they issue them - Eventually 😮 ) Offering a bill validation service can be very resource heavy and the returns sometimes don't make it worthwhile, especially if you are an energy consultant looking to bring additional value to your customers. The big thing that makes Optima stand out is the fact we are solely dedicated to bill validation and data management. And that is why we are one of the preferred partners for so many energy consultants and end users. Maybe worth having a look at some point 👀 ( However not if you want trading or procurement 😝 )

just thought I'd share some quick calcs that come in handy day to day as I'm sizing gas /heatpump & DHW systems find its good to have these in my brain to when having to quickly react & size solutions on the road in between meetings etc so I can have some quick understanding of requirement before I get home to work on a proposal. finding required KW of heatpump: KW power required = L/sec x 4.18 x DT (F&R temp differential of pipe header - typically 5-10c on R410A/R32/R454B/R290 propane systems) finding flow rate from KW L/sec= KW ÷ (4.18 X DT) DHW KW sizing healthcare l/sec x 4.18 x 55DT (Outlet temp 65c - cold main temp typically 10c) DHW KW sizing non healthcare l/sec x 4.18 x 50DT (Outlet temp 60c - cold main temp typically 10c) heatpump F&R header volume calc: useful calc as it can be handy to know your pipe header volume in litres to understand if inline buffer is actually needed or can be significantly reduced in size. Pi x R² (mm) x length (m) divide answer by 1000 x 2 = volume in litres of both flow & return pipes example: 50mm pipe & 15m run of F&R pipe 3.142 x 25mm² x 15m = 29,456.25 29,456.25 ÷ 1000 = 29.45 litres 29.45 x 2 = 58.9litres in F&R header heat pump pipe sizing: step 1/ 1000 x 4.18 x DT x Pi x V (m/sec) *only variables are DT & velocity* step 2/ power kw of heatpump divided by answer from step 1 step 3/ find the Square root of the answer obtained from step 2 & multiply by 2000 to give minimum internal diameter of pipe.

District Heat Networks this week received €67m / GBP£57m gov funding in UK The funds are provided by UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero under their Green Heat Network Fund ( GHNF) which is admisistered by Triple Point Heat Networks Investment Management 'HNIP'​ assisted by GEMSERV LIMITED. In the UK the GHNF funds up to 50% of an elegible District Heat Network (DHN) project’s total commercialisation and construction costs. 5 District Heat Network (DHN) projects across the UK, from London to Leeds and the North of England, will share the UK Gov funding £57m fund and will serve 17,000 new DHN customers. Of particular interest here in Ireland is the LeedsPipes project which will receive the largest amount of GBP£24.5m. This will be used to extend the DHN distributing waste heat from a municipal Waste to Enegy (WtE) plant to 2000 homes, businesses, and public buildings. A very similar scheme is planned in Ireland by Dublin City Council - the Dublin District Heating Scheme (DDHS) to use waste heat from the ENCYCLIS WtE plant to serve new devlopments in Dublin's Docklands #eng4climate #letsrethinkheat #districtheatnetworks https://lnkd.in/e3znK_Un

Is there really a need for bill validation or are Energy Suppliers so good that we can be confident all the invoices they issue are correct..... I personally see on a daily basis the amount of errors and horrifying mistakes that suppliers send out to customers 😱. I see the billing formats that are used that have been cobbled together and more worryingly suppliers are not willing to accept they have issues with their billing systems 😡 . A prime example of this is the current SSE billing where instead of issuing credit invoices they are just showing the figures on a normal invoice as a negative figure 😣. Luckily we can act quickly and amend our software however not as easy for many people who do bill validation. Who know maybe one day suppliers will bill everything correct 🤥
