DYNAMON PRESS RELEASE June 25. 2024 Dynamon: eFREIGHT 2030 trial will be the ultimate test of electric HGVs      The newly-launched eFREIGHT 2030 trial will see electric HGVs pushed to their limit and prove they have place in logistics fleets in the next decade, believes the project’s planning software provider Dynamon.    The eFREIGHT 2030 project is the most ambitious trial of its type to date, Dynamon claims. It is intended to demonstrate what electric HGVs can do in real world conditions by taking on roles that diesel trucks usually complete and illustrating a business case for their use, as well providing a publicly accessible network of 1MW eHGV charging hubs across the country. With the arrival of the new ‘74’ vehicle registration just around the corner, a Censuswide poll of 1,000 UK drivers commissioned by The Motor Ombudsman has revealed generational differences in consumer ‘Car Confidence’ when it comes to buying and owning a vehicle. At the recent JOSCAR event, the subject of supply chains was a big talking point and how this is affecting OEMs. With the increased importance of robust supply chains to final delivery, finding the ideal supplier is more important than ever before. With OEMS such as BAE Systems having around 16,000 suppliers, how do supply chain professionals begin to make the right choice? There will always be a focus on performance and delivery, but in modern supply chains innovation and problem solving are just as valuable. For SMEs bombarding procurement teams is not the answer; witing for the appropriate opportunity, and then bringing a solid proposal is the route to success. The global tyre manufacturer Bridgestone EMEA is calling for the Government to take further measures in a bid to encourage more motorists to buy an electric car. Whilst the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) predict that 414,000 EVs will be sold in the UK during 2024, a study conducted by the tyre brand found 27 percent of drivers do not intend buying an electric model. In his latest CEO update on Friday, Mike Hawes said: This week’s long-awaited announcement of an industrial strategy, with government’s Invest 2035 green paper, presents a fresh opportunity to turbocharge UK industrial and economic growth. 🚗 **Electric Journey: Norfolk to London with the MG4 Standard Range** ⚡ As someone who's always cautious about long trips in an electric vehicle, I recently took the plunge and drove my MG4 Standard Range from Norfolk to London. I've had the MG4 for a year so far, but I've primarily used it for my daily commute to work and back. Initially, I was hesitant, especially knowing that the miles seem to drop off faster than forecasted on the M11 at 70 MPH. However, a quick 30-minute charging stop topped the car back up to 100%, making the journey much more feasible. The real surprise came when driving in and out of London. Unlike petrol or diesel cars that burn through fuel in heavy traffic, the MG4 was unaffected by the stop-and-go conditions. Additionally, I didn’t have to worry about the congestion charge or the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge, making the trip even more cost-effective and stress-free. What I thought would be a challenging trip turned into a delightful experience. The efficiency and performance of the MG4 in urban traffic were impressive, showing just how well electric vehicles can handle both motorway speeds and city congestion. One downside to note is the lane assist feature, which I always have to turn off as it doesn’t understand the lanes here properly. For anyone considering an electric vehicle for longer trips, I can confidently say that it’s a viable and enjoyable option. #ElectricVehicles #MG4 #SustainableTravel #EVJourney #ElectricCars #LondonTrip
