An alarming reminder of the challenges we face in the recruitment market! CityA.M.'s latest report shows that over 400 UK recruitment companies went bust last year 🤯😩. Some of which were boutique SME's & Start-Ups, others were prestigious enterprises which you would've never predicted. #Funding News in the Tech Market Healx 💰 - Raised $47M (£37M) UK-based Cambridge company drug discovery startup Healx announced its $47 million in Series C funding. The round was co-led by R42 Group and Atomico, with additions from other parties. This funding will propel Healx's mission to accelerate the discovery and development of treatments for rare diseases using AI and drug repurposing. Huma 💰 - Raised $80M Global healthcare AI company Huma has successfully completed its Series D funding round. This latest $80 million round included participation from new and existing investors such as AstraZeneca, HAT SGR, Hitachi Ventures, and Leaps by Bayer. The funds will support the launch of the Huma Cloud Platform, a technology ecosystem designed to empower the development and scaling of AI-enabled digital health tools. Robin AI 💰 - Raised $26M Robin AI, a company using generative AI to automate and speed up the process of drafting and negotiating contracts, has raised $26 million in a Series B funding round led by Temasek. Additional investment came from QuantumLight, Plural, and AFG Partners. This funding will help Robin AI expand its presence in the United States and Asia Pacific. 💰 The 10 highest paid and in-demand, jobs right now in Nov 2024 Which roles are leading in high salaries this year?💥 Top 10 highest-paid & in-demand jobs in 2024: 1️⃣ 150k to 225k 1, Chief Technical Officer (CTO)  The CTO role is the highest paid and in demand role, especially profiles with AI experience are commanding the most interest. 2️⃣ 140k to 200k  2, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) - double OTE on targets 3, Chief Product Officer (CPO)  4, Chief Operations Officer (COO) 3️⃣ 130k to 150k 5, VP Engineering  6, VP Data Analytics (AI) 9, VP Sales - double OTE on targets 4️⃣ 110k to 130k 8, Senior Engineers (Principle, Staff, Senior) 9, Senior Product Managers  10, Senior Data Scientists (AI) The salaries are for VC-backed Series A & B scaleups and challenger brands based across London in 2024,  typically companies with between 20 and 250 headcount. Pay scales for similar roles in large enterprise companies and banks will be higher.  🏢 Sectors hiring ✅ AI - both technical and non technical roles. ✅ Crypto  ✅ Fintech ✅ Payments ✅ Blockchain ✅ Cyber ✅ SaaS ✅ Software for Government ❗ Note - You will have likely spotted the lack of C Suite roles in People and Marketing roles. These roles still pay very well but the volume of roles created are very low in 2024, this has not been a good year for these positions. A bit late to the party with this after being away. However, Tech Nation released their 2024 report last week and here are some of the highlights: - UK tech sector reached a valuation of $1.1 trillion in Q1 2024 - UK tech sector #1 in Europe - $21.3bn raised by UK Tech startups in 2023 - 16% of total UK VC investment went to AI startups in Q1 2024 - Q1 2024 the biggest quarterly UK fundraise to date ($50.2bn) With 1,800+ AI startups backed by VCs & 20 AI unicorns in the UK, it's clear that AI continues to grow in importance, with the UK being a very exciting place to be!
