Great meeting today with George Barnsley F.Inst. PA discussing, among many things, how the importance of understanding both yourself and others in moments of high stress cannot be overestimated. Knowing your own triggers, being self-aware while at the same time "reading the room" before you have even started the investigation or conversation are key to knowing how to respond. Building rapport and developing a relationship that engenders trust from the start all begins with this awareness.

Did you know that 72% of journalists say that images can be the deciding factor in deciding whether or not to use a story? If you are considering a PR campaign, photos are extremely important. If you have spare budget, please invest in photography. Our team at Poppy PR Derby can pop out to take photos for stories, but we advise our clients to invest in a bank of brilliant images which can be used for a variety of uses. It’s not just about providing just any image either! Photos for PR should be taken ideally in landscape positioning, be provided in high resolution and in JPEG format. In addition to the above, make sure that your photos are not sent to your PR team on WhatsApp! The UK Government has launched its first Industrial Strategy in seven years - and the Creative Industries has been named as a priority sector. This is a great opportunity to grow the existing £125bn GVA contribution the creative sector already makes.
