Country’s first digital factoring platform TREDX goes live. At the opening event, Dr M Masrur Reaz, an economist and managing director of Think Big Solutions Ltd, said "This marketplace will be a new beginning for SMEs as supply chain finance is one of the major factors for them. Besides, the financial inclusion gap is still large in our country. We are pleased that the Bangladesh Bank officials accepted TREDX warmly." At the opening event, Dr M Masrur Reaz, an economist and managing director of Think Big Solutions Ltd, said "This marketplace will be a new beginning for SMEs as supply chain finance is one of the major factors for them. Besides, the financial inclusion gap is still large in our country. We are pleased that the Bangladesh Bank officials accepted TREDX warmly." Masrur Reaz also thanked everyone, including banks and financial institutions, for joining the platform. TREDX will bring financiers, corporates, and their suppliers onto a single platform to create a win-win-win value proposition. "The credit risk here is low, but the operation risk is a little high. All banks and financial institutions will be on this open platform. This initiative will be successful, but it will take time. So, entrepreneurs have to be patient for some time, said Mominul Islam, the chairperson of Bangladesh Leasing and Finance Companies Association (BLFCA). Association of Bankers, Bangladesh (ABB) Chairman Selim RF Hussain said, "The modes of supply chain management are changing due to Covid. TREDX will not only reduce suppliers' hassles but also give them the lowest rates. SMEs can reap benefits from this platform and boost them." Md Mezbaul Haque, director of the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank, said, "This marketplace will eliminate the problem of access to finance for SMEs. Banks and financial institutions can invest their idle money here. This will help their treasury management." TREDX will facilitate online, real-time transactions between suppliers with approved invoices and financial institutions keen on discounting these invoices and reducing costs across the entire ecosystem for all parties involved. Abul Kasem Khan, chairman of Think Big Solutions and former president of Dhaka Chamber, said that SMEs can expand their businesses through this platform as it will be a better financing option for them. Raja Debnath, co-founder and CEO of TREDX, said, "Three such platforms have been operating in India since 2017. #Jyske #Debt #Bonds Apparently it’s Selfie-time on Linked-In… 🙄There’s a first time for everything… 😂 so here I go with my first ever Linked-In selfie taken yesterday afternoon feeling exhausted😅, relieved, very content, proud and grateful 🙏 heading home from Jyske HQ office after we successfully issued our last Jyske EUR bond of 2024; a rare EUR 500m 4.5NC3.5 PS. Issuing on Q3 results day required some intense preparation work 😅🤓 but having seen financial markets continue to rally and completely neglect the geopolitical tensions which have only been escalating during 2H 2024 (must be the power of lower rates conviction and fund inflows) - we decided to accelerate our planned issuance to capture the strong market conditions and get out before the US election volatility. Yesterday’s trade was a truly great way to round off an already outstanding issuance year 🤩🤩 for the Jyske Group where we issued in all asset classes from EUR covered (Jyske Realkredit) to AT1 👊💪🤓 A few details on yesterday’s trade: At 09:04 CET we opened books with IPTs of EUR m/s + 100 bps. At the open a few much appreciated “Jyske old friends” jumped into the book almost immediately- WE LIKE VM💚and onwards the book never looked back it grew steadily to the 1st update at 10:40 CET where it went > EUR 1bn. At 12:00 CET books were > EUR 1.5bn and in the 2nd book update we went straight to setting the Final Terms in one clean step at EUR m/s + 70bps. Books closed at 12:30 CET with a final book of > EUR 1.4bn based on orders from > 70 investors with average order size of EUR 20m. Results from the BoE 2024 desk-based stress test suggest that the UK banking system is in a strong position to support households and businesses even if economic, financial and business conditions turned out to be substantially worse than expected. Net interest margins are anticipated to remain broadly stable, with widespread use of hedging practices likely to reduce banks’ sensitivity to expected falls in interest rates. Reflecting on the recent UK budget, it’s striking to recall a month ago when the Labour government actively sought to engage with businesses and promote growth as the cornerstone of prosperity. We witnessed a refreshing focus on growth with an international investment summit and the launch of a growth-oriented industrial strategy. However, the budget reveals a different approach. The increase in taxes on businesses, coupled with a lack of a clear investment plan for the new industrial strategy, raises concerns. A substantial additional £22.9 billion is directed to the NHS without a comprehensive transformation and efficiency plan. This increase in government spending, funded by higher borrowing and increased taxes, contradicts the government’s aim to facilitate investment, grow the economy and alleviate financial burdens, such as reducing mortgage rates. Moreover, the absence of targeted support for key sectors—like technology and green energy—could hinder innovation and long-term competitiveness. Additionally, the lack of measures to address the skills gap and workforce challenges means that even with investment, the UK may struggle to realise its growth potential. The economic rationale behind these measures raises serious concerns about their effectiveness in stimulating growth.
