Yesterday’s budget was a tough one to take for many businesses throughout the UK due to the significant increases in NLW and employers NI putting more financial pressure on operations whilst costs are already high. What impact is this likely to have on getting more people, more active, more often? Will members be forced to increase prices? If so, what impact could this have on activity levels and bridging the affordability & accessibility gap? Or will the increase in NLW enable more people to access members facilities? Trends show that more young people prefer to swap the pub for the gym these days and many beneficiaries from the NLW increases will be the younger generation. With an extra £100+ per month in their pay packet, will more people be able invest in their own wellbeing? Time will tell! There are, however, many reasons for our sector to be optimistic. ukactive will continue to engage with Government to represent our members, reminding them of the role we can play in supporting the growth of the economy and the health of the nation. This is an iconic deal in the landscape of English cricket and possibly world cricket. GMR Group and Hampshire County Cricket Club and its assets, currently owned by Rod Bransgrove, have agreed to an aquistion! Rod has been such a huge contributor to the game in the UK. I personally think this deal will be the catalyst to opening the gates to further Indian investment into English cricket (not new news) which points towards a bigger holistic future of players being centrally contracted by franchises (not countries). Our figures from last year compared to our numbers seven months in of 2024 119,471 Men have attended #ANDYSMANCLUB WITH 12,470 MEN walking through the doors of AndysManClub groups face to face and online. At the beginning of the year we had 161 AMC venues - we now have 200+ with more to come before the year's out. we may hit 220. Yes these are amazing figures. More men are coming forward to talk about their problems without prejudice or judgement. It is all about #thatoneman. Positive that Men are turning to AndysManClub and other groups to get help. Sadly numbers are increasing. Suicide is increasing so on average 6000+ Men women and children are feeling that they have no other options but to end their lives. I for one know that talking about personal issues really helps I will keep promoting and raising awareness for men's mental health. Assigning Different Tee Markers and Corresponding Data in Golf Genius Software     Have you ever had to suffer through the pain of running a net handicap competition with mixed tee markers.? Then comes the grand-daddy of having to explain to many when they question why so and so has such and such for an index?? For example, a men’s or ladies' league where most play from the BLUE middle tees but a portion of the field would like to play the shorter WHITE tees and then some seniors want the REDS. If you take the hard line and limit it to one set of blocks, you will reduce the size of your field. Oh yes….fun times indeed!! If you are a Golf Professional/Golf Event coordinator and are tasked with running events, you know this scenario quite well. Did you know that Golf Genius Software can assign this in seconds?
