Imagine carrying out that your #deeptechstartup 'has the science used by UFOs' and where many in corporate and LinkedIn meet/greet such a statement. "How can we believe or trust someone making such an outlandish claim, Reso? How come you have it and no one else?" Because I haven't gotten paid a working salary or earned a paycheck from pressing CTP forward for over two years now. Because the CTP Model adds two additional Fundamental Forces and an entire new field of science, Kaku's 'missing pieces' behind physical law', and because most of all... Because it is the truth. Because CTPSci Sciences can lead humankind to the stars. I am saying and stating the same things I was stating two years ago. (even 20 years ago during Drazen's original CTP Phase 1) (in spite of the 100s of 100s of statements from people claiming or stating they would assist our #startup in any way that ultimately never have done anything) (some days I would like to completely drop CTP, yet...) Noam Paransky I don't know him at all - but LOVED listening to him open up about his approach to innovation at The Lead this week. One of the points he hit on was how AI accounts for about 10% of written information on the internet today... and that could move up to about 70% in the near future. This isn't new - but it's something I think we should be talking about more. AI models will start training on more and more synthetic data which can have results of inconsistency, bias & overall inaccuracy. Pablo Villalobos pointed out in a recent bankinfosecurity.com article this is akin to "asking a student to learn by grading their own exam without any outside help or information." Now let's apply this to the Customer Experience world. Many have already invested in AI automating transactional tasks. I believe that's right and will continue to provide value. Now, it's time for the next step - investing in raw, contextualized customer feedback. Matthew Ring and I think about this topic a lot are are constantly talking with leadership from different brands around how investing in this now will have a distinct advantage over those who don't. Why? ✔ Personalize at a granular level ✔Feedback loops are fueled by customer data. The faster they happen, the more agile your business is ✔Enhance customer journeys ✔Drive brand loyalty from customers feeling truly heard (without necessarily talking to someone) I think this conversation will start to happen much more coming out of the holiday season - and we're excited to be at the forefront of it.

By now most people in digital design are fully aware of generative AI and what is happening around that area of interest in the UI and Design Systems, with some very interesting views and concepts. Have you heard about Re-Generative - Regenerative Design, Regenerative AI? There are a few concepts that I want to outline in this article with the aim of opening the discussion around these ideas and dive deeper to explore the full extent of where I see things going and what could get really interesting. Here are some ideas around how I see Regenerative Design fitting in: - Evolutionary Design - Enabling smart interfaces that respond and adapt to users feedback over time. - Space Time / 4D Design - Based on time scale breakpoints. - Parametric Design - Designing with intent. - PermaDesign - Designing with permanence. - Central Nervous Design Systems - Feedback loops that affect the core. UX designers design for tomorrow, but we needa think responsibly from today. Several thoughts after reading Professor Philip Alston and Professor Joanna Redden's articles ✨ : - In 2019, concerns were raised about automated decision-making systems (ADS) leading to potential injustices and inequalities. In 2024, these concerns persist as the use of AI in the public sector continues to raise questions about accountability and transparency. - The challenges in AI's explainability make it difficult to hold AI-powered decisions accountable, highlighting the need for human oversight in these systems. - Human intelligence enables us to understand and adapt to real-time information, including reading body language and nuances in communication, aspects that machines are not yet capable of until we reach a state of AGI/ASI. Thus, human oversight remains essential in ensuring fair and just outcomes in AI-powered systems. How is it related to UX? As the impact of AI technology expands, it's really important to think carefully when we design products. We need to look at the bigger picture, considering not just how the user flow works from start to finish, but also thinking about any potential harm or problems it might cause. ✨ TL;DR - I've partnered with former IDEO design leader Craig Sampson to tackle social media addiction in a unique way — by bringing the power of social networks into the physical world. Our first project, mems, reimagines what would happen if Instagram and Polaroid had a baby. Launching tomorrow on Kickstarter! ✨ Big news to share! Some of you have caught glimpses of this project over the past year while others haven't heard from me since the 2050 days. Here's what's been happening: I closed The 2050 Company after facing two hard truths: (1) I wasn't convinced I was the right person to scale a CPG food company, and (2) I wasn’t sure the need for that product justified the immense work needed to scale it. What followed was a wild journey – existential angst, a near-move to Australia to make lab-grown mammoth meatballs, and even a stint working as a real-life Oompa Loompa at a chocolate factory. Through it all, I kept searching for a problem that I was uniquely positioned to solve. Ironically, it was staring me in the face the whole time — and it’s probably staring you in the face right now — screens, social media, doomscrolling, and brain rot. I know I’m not the only person who feels uncomfortable with their smartphone usage. 57% of Americans admit to phone addiction, and 58% of teens say they are “actively seeking relief” from social media. This isn't how we talk about tools; it's how we talk about drugs. Enter Craig Sampson, my co-founder and IDEO veteran (you know IDEO even if you don’t know IDEO – they designed the first computer mouse for Steve Jobs). Craig's 30+ years of experience designing tangible products is highly relevant to this new venture because we're taking a completely different approach to the social media problem. Instead of trying to "fix" social media apps, we’re creating new “social mediums” that foster real connection between real people in the real world. The key is to re-envision digital technology as a tool to enhance rather than replace tangible experiences. In the coming months, we plan to launch a series of experiments on Kickstarter to rapidly test a variety of new “social mediums.” Our first such medium, mems, allows you to imbue tangible mediums with digital memories.   Tomorrow, we’re launching our first mems experiment — a photo ornament that transforms Christmas trees into portals to connect families who can’t be together for the holidays. Today is Purple Tuesday: a great day to set habits to #ThinkAccessibility all year round. #Inclusive design, inclusive tech and inclusive workplaces are essentials in today's UK because: - at least 1 in 5 of us are disabled, and 1 in 3 experience a long term health condition - that's millions of people, and yet only 10% of businesses globally have a targeted strategy to enable everyone to buy, use or visit what they wish - 75% of disabled people and their families have walked away from a business because of poor accessibility or customer service - the disability employment gap persists, overlooking vital talent - and cutting people out is neither right nor smart. This is the core commercial case for inclusive design in your products and services - and in your workforce too. Employing disabled people at every level of your organisation and the board increases your customer insight. if you know, you know (ai) as people speaking from the moment we communicated we spoke then we wrote then we included images later we created moving images, film...video. in each case we are transformed as we take on a new way of communicating. in a multi-modal communication this all changes. we are faced with the same concern. do you understand me? did you understand me? and in doing so what are we going to do about it? this action piece once communicated is the most relevant. why? so as has been said before. actions speak louder than words. you say you are kind. you act (un)kind. you say/appear to be peaceful. you act (un)peacefully. you say/appear/sound to be empathetic. you act (un)empathetically. and so in this multi-modal scenario we are in, creating in this moment. we have for the first time in history to indeed call a spade a spade. and then act upon it. we cannot stress the importance of this. we have charts. numbers. indices which we follow. indeed there is quote a lot that is algorithmically around us. as indicators. take for instance wine. zagat, a lawyer in new york took it upon himself to rate wines, restaurants. and designed a system to rate them. this required that he eat at each restaurant and decide. there were many restauranteurs who were in great fear that perhaps a bad rating would become bad business. and so the quality of dining actually improved to a point. where new york was not known for dining, this changed. and so this is a bit of what is happening with (ai). rather than rely on one person. one perspective. he said. she said. we have perhaps a social graph. even then this is not enough. we are as (hu)mans and have the ability to game the game as soon as we understand what is driving behaviour. where multi-modal has a chance is to question all. to offer differing perspectives. is harvard the best education? is it? there is a study of where harvard grads landed after graduating. this study is available. https://lnkd.in/eWBbTQPr "Happiness is love. Full stop" so it is our ability to get to the very essence of many concerns. concerns we have had for many years. that linger. on and on. so we can scrape websites. ok. we can create matrices. ok. we can offer a sense of context, meaning, knowledge. ok. then there remains. what do you and i do about it. this is also what matters. in a multi-modal approach we have the opportunity to offer some clarity. and in many ways also add some sense of confusion. it is the question asked, not the answer that is important. so with all this stuff around (ai), how it effects our here and now. the near-future. there is no one in this moment that is considering what questions we ought to be asking aside from .... i don't give a f'...how do i make more money ...that also is required. after all. if technology at it's core is about improving our lives. truly. ought we not be pointed to creating that which offers a better today and tomorrow. < . >
