In Q2 of this year in the UK the average Perm Consultant made 4 placements and the average Temp Consultant made 6 placements. (UK) When we looked at the consultants at the Top 5 agencies on Recruiter Insider for Candidate Experience, we discovered that: 🚀 the average Perm Consultant there made 5 placements 🚀 the average Temp Consultant made 10 placements. In Q2 alone, the agencies with the highest candidate experience scores made 1 extra Perm placement per consultant and an 4 extra temp placements per consultant. Highlighting as always the impact candidate experience has on your placement numbers. The data doesn’t lie, an improved candidate experience means more placements. Here is a list of the key reasons I’ve heard from agencies over the last 8 years that I actually agree with as to why measuring the candidate experience isn’t a priority for them right now. There isnt one! Not a single one. Candidates deserve the best service you can give and if you aren’t measuring it you can’t improve it. No one is perfect but we can all improve.

PR Recruitment has been - and always will be - a constant challenge for agencies. Although this year is feeling slightly different. Agencies are trying to balance hiring needs with an inconsistent market and slow sign-offs on new business. Talent is harder to entice to new opportunities, with job security remaining front of mind. A lot of agencies are asking, for all of the redundancies that have been made, where is the talent? They are simply getting absorbed into what is still a candidate short market. There are more jobs than talent. As highlighted in the below PRWeek UK article, investing in your employer brand has become critical to attracting and retaining talent. This includes: - Building your agency's LinkedIn presence - Contributing to industry media coverage - Evolving your benefits package to align with your agency's values - Telling your agency's story when interviewing including agency growth, agency goals, and career opportunities. You aren't a priority to most agencies unless they're looking at a massive fee. Most recruiters can be working upwards of 15+ roles at once majority of the time which means realistically they're working on your brand for less than half a day per week. An alarming reminder of the challenges we face in the recruitment market! CityA.M.'s latest report shows that over 400 UK recruitment companies went bust last year 🤯😩. Some of which were boutique SME's & Start-Ups, others were prestigious enterprises which you would've never predicted.
