Latest LinkedIn Stats show there are 9,523 #CustomerSuccessManagers (CSMs) in England... here's some more interesting stats ⬇️ Over 50% of CSMs live in London - 4,897 to be precise! It's easier for employers to hire office based CSMs in London. But companies outside of London, should consider offering more flexible remote/hybrid working, to gain access to half of the CSMs in England! Almost 25% of CSMs (2,174), changed roles last year - was this the effect of increased layoffs in 2023? I’m delighted to be engaged with over a quarter of the country’s CSM talent. 45% of daily emails end up in spam 🫠 This morning, I decided to check how bad my primary email deliverability really is (you know, the one connected to your website domain like [email protected]). As the report loads? SURPRISE SURPRISE! I get hit with a POOR score 👀, and 52.5% of my emails are marked as SPAM. The thing is, I’m not sending spam or cold emails. This is the email I use to talk to clients and candidates, but still, I’m flagged as SPAM. For day-to-day communication, it’s not a huge deal. But if you’re using your primary domain email for outreach to candidates and prospects, this is a serious problem. Imagine, I'm giving no reason for someone to flag me as spam, yet I'm still getting treated like one. Now think about the impact when you’re sending cold emails. It's around 60%. 60% of startup businesses fail within the first 3 years of trading ❌ That means for every 10 businesses that opened their doors in September 2021, 6 of them are no longer with us. But 40% are 👏🏻 & one of those 40% is Rise Site Solutions Ltd. Which if anyone has the pleasure of knowing Charlie Robinson (either personally or professionally) this will really come as no surprise. I still remember the first time we sat down together to discuss what his own agency really was going to look like. It was about 12 months prior to "doing it" & understandably so. After all, leaving a secure role where you're professionally comfortable & progressing nicely (which was exactly the dynamic that Charlie was in back then), is no mean feat 💯 But after months & months of conversations, of planning & of playing the "what happens if it doesn't quite work out" game (although perhaps a little pointless!), in September 2021 Rise Site Solutions opened it's doors. The last 3 years have been great fun - selfishly we know how lucky we are to work with not only fantastic recruiters but also lovely people as well & Charlie is both of them. Day 8 of running 5k every day for 50 days to raise money for Radical Recruit✔️ We’ve hit the £5k mark!🥳 A huge thanks to everyone who has already donated. For perspective, £5k pays for a month of employability support for 20 people - or a years’ worth of support for 1-2 people. Note to self: Must eat better, sleep better and hydrate better. For someone who is more Shetland pony than racehorse, 8 days straight of running 5k is feeling like a huge achievement already and, whilst also doubting if I’ve got 50 days in me, I’m more determined than ever to get through the whole thing. Something that I couldn't get my head round in 2023 throughout the layoffs is RevOps being classed as a cost centre, but I'm seeing a mind shift in the right direction... European SaaS companies sometimes view RevOps as a cost centre, I'm sure this is due to a lack of understanding about its full potential and impact on revenue growth. However, RevOps is indeed a revenue enablement function that can significantly contribute to a company's success. Here are 4 (of many) reasons why I think every business should have a RevOps function: 1. Alignment of revenue-generating teams: RevOps aligns sales, marketing, and customer success teams, ensuring they work towards common goals. This alignment reduces friction between departments, improves communication, and creates a seamless customer journey, ultimately leading to increased revenue and customer satisfaction. 2. Data-driven decision making: RevOps centralises data from various sources and provides actionable insights. Should you try to become a manager? Is that the only form of progression? How do you define progression? Now we're getting deeper..... What are you good at? What really makes you happy? Progression might mean selling bigger, more complex deals...... Answer the last two and you'll answer the first three. As long as I've done this role I've: -placed managers back into IC roles -seen salespeople out earn managers That's not to say, don't become a manager. It's more to say....think about why and what it means.

Do you need to have SDR experience to be a successful SDR? In my opinion, no. If hiring managers are just looking for existing SDR’s then a lot of talent is being missed. Call centre jobs, door-to-door sales…recruitment 😅 There are many roles out there that build resilience, grit and get people used to being told no… or worse, which is vital. Don’t get me wrong, hiring someone with SDR experience would be ideal and make them very likely to succeed. But, you might be hiring someone who wants to progress quicker than you like. If they’ve been an SDR for a year already, will they want to start from scratch and do another 12 months? They may be a bit more expensive and might even need as much training as someone with no SDR experience if they’re used to doing things a different way!
